FRIDAY 29TH APRIL

THE FIRST CUT IS THE DEEPEST FOR MAX With the weight of the world on his shoulders and feeling guilty about Amy, Max has a huge fall out with David who has confiscated his phone. As he asserts that he hates him David retaliates by saying Max’s mum would be ashamed of him if she were alive. Planning to run away Max smashes the glass on the barber’s door and climbs in, hoping to retrieve his phone.As Max climbs out of the barber’s, he lacerates his leg on the broken glass in the door and collapses onto the street. Will Max be found in time?

TOYAH AND LEANNE SETTLE THEIR DIFFERENCES At Toyah’s hen do her sister tells her that she has her blessing if she is sure she wants to marry Imran and she'll be by her side. The sisters hug, each burying their concerns. In Speed Daal, Adam and Craig join Imran for his stag do, but the mood is ruined when Abi approaches and tells Imran that despite the fact that the money has run dry and her lawyer has walked, she still intends to fight him every step of the way for custody of Alfie.

JACOB’S TWO STEPS AHEAD OF SIMON Outside the shop, Jacob makes a furtive call giving Simon cause to think that he’s planting drugs in Victoria Garden for a client. Simon confronts Jacob and demands he hand over his stash. When Jacob reveals that he was planting a packet of custard creams, Simon realises he’s been duped. As Jacob describes his life of hell working for Harvey and how he grabbed the opportunity to escape as soon as Harvey was banged up, Simon looks at him in a new light.

AGGIE MEETS HER NEW BOSS When Aggie reveals that she’s been drafted to a different ward in the hospital and her new boss, Mr Thorne, is known to be a stickler, But having met the charming Mr Thorne Aggie is surprised to receive such a warm welcome.

ALYA COOKS UP A CHARITABLE IDEA Alya tells Stu that as part of Eid she plans to cook up some extra food in the restaurant kitchen and share it out amongst the community. When Yasmeen offers to help, Alya’s pleasantly surprised. When Stu tells Zeedan about the charity food event, he wishes he could help out too.

Coronation Street Episode Review Monday 25th April

Daniel apologises to Daisy re: accusing her of spreading Nicki's past to all the schoolchildren of Weathy High, but she doesn't want to hear it. He says he will put a word in for her at the school but it's to no avail, Naughty Nicki is sacked. Surely Daniel has some other blackmail material up his sleeve - the attempted seduction of himself by Mrs Crawshaw. Ok, she was all over the place due to her hubby leaving her, but still, she's the headteacher and he's - well, it's not very clear since he seems to be running the school, but I think he's still on work placement? That's a great big abuse of power there, Mrs C!

Danny-boy says Nicki & child can move in - does he not remember that his mum gave him a house? Maybe Nicki can live there? Also, I realise Daisy is truly in lurve with Daniel now, but at the beginning she was interested in him because he had a £400K house, doesn't that make her a little bit of a gold-digger? She is angry that Nicki is Daniel's new flatmate, Nicki is angry with a journalist who calls around trying to dig up dirt and Daniel is angry with Max for everything and threatens to tell Amy about the drink-spiking.

In the comedy storyline, after some shenanigans, it is revealed why George doesn't want Eileen staying at his: he doesn't have a wife or a sick relative or even a cat - he snores. Me and my beloved argue about who snores the worst, so I can see why Gorgeous George wouldn't want Eileen to find out. She says he can stay over anyway and even gives him some of Jason's leftover pyjamas. As if Jason ever wore jim-jams, he totally slept in the nude. Or at least that's how I pictured him.

Jacob is after some gainful employment so Amy asks Carla straight out for a job for him. Surely they need more people in packing since PC ~~Plonker~~ Tinker returned to the force? Carla says she'll give him a trial but he's not forgiven re: his drug dealing ways. Pity that Jacob is honestly employed, I quite liked him as a Del-boy style wheeler-dealer.

Sally tries to discuss with Tim his problems in the downstairs department but he refuses to talk about it. This story has gone from bedroom farce to another Issues storyline. Just get some Viagra down yer gob, Tim, you can get it online nowadays. Sally says she just wants a cuddle.

WEDNESDAY 27TH APRIL

MAX HAS SOME CONFESSING TO DO A defiant Max assures David and Shona that Daniel’s bluffing as he’s got too much to lose. But when Amy misreads one lad’s admiring glances she throws a cup of coffee over him and has a meltdown believing he could have been the one to spike her drink. Daniel tells David about Amy’s behaviour and tells him she needs to know the truth. Will Max come clean?

SIMON FEELS BETRAYED BY CARLA’S KINDNESS Carla also has some questions to answer when news of Jacobs new job at the factory reaches Simon, Toyah, Nick, Leanne and Peter. No one can understand her decision and Simon rails at her for her lack of loyalty. Simon calls at the factory and publicly shames Jacob for his violent, drug dealing past. Jacob’s deeply humiliated whilst Carla masks her unease. Simon makes it clear that he’ll never forgive him and he’d better watch his back.

GEORGE FEARS A SLEEPLESS FUTURE George’s stay at Eileen’s goes without hitch and Eileen confesses how much she enjoyed having him stay over.

SALLY AND TIM At No.4, Sally urges Tim to make an appointment with Dr Gaddas to discuss his impotence, but clearly embarrassed, Tim refuses. Sally’s frustrated. To Sally’s relief, Tim finally sees sense and agrees to see the doctor.

ELSEWHERE In the bistro, Leanne voices her concerns to Toyah about the wedding and the fact that it’s all happening far too quickly. Toyah’s defensive. Deeply upset, Toyah tells Leanne that if she can’t rely on her full support, she doesn’t want her at the wedding. Leanne feels guilty.

Rovers Return to serve alcohol-free beer

The nation’s favourite alcohol-free beer Heineken 0.0 is to go on draught at Emmerdale’s Woolpack and in Coronation Street’s Rovers Return.

From this Friday 29th April real Heineken 0.0 Draught taps will be on the bars in two of Britain’s most cherished TV pubs, The Rovers Return (Coronation Street) and The Woolpack (Emmerdale). They will sit alongside fictional beers like Newton & Ridley and Ephraim Monk for much-loved landlords Jenny Connor and Charity Dingle to pull on-screen pints for the next year.

John Whiston, Managing Director of Continuing Drama, ITV said: "We're really pleased to be able to put a non-alcoholic beer pump on the bar of our iconic soap pubs, The Rovers and The Woolpack. We all know that we need to be more aware of how much we drink. This new non-alcoholic beer pump from Heineken will be a gentle reminder that there are great, modern, thirst-quenching alternatives to having one too many pints of Newton and Ridley.”
