Conversation Street Podcast Episode #561

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 30th January and the 3rd February (Episodes #10864 - 10869).

A couple of unexpected twists this week: first, Max's plea of guilty at his hearing puts the character in a particularly precarious position - is he actually going to be sentenced to a hefty stretch in the big house, or will the judge be lenient? And the second surprise involved Beth and Hope - Beth's been a pretty obnoxious individual for quite a while now, but there can't have been many viewers who would have predicted she actually did slap that little madam on Wednesday night! Seems like this may well turn into a case of the girl who cried wolf for young Miss Stape (or is she Dobbs now..?). Also this week, Justin's obsessive behaviour gets even more extreme, Gemma comes up with a plan for a wedding on a budget, and Leanne learns the truth about Damon's involvement in the Bistro.

Up next in the podcast, it's The Kabin, where we share the news of the Coronation Street Visitor Centre & Event Space, which was officially revealed by ITV this week. We round the podcast off with more of your feedback, including some more predictions for Corrie in 2023!

For this week's bonus podcast, we tackle two more of your Listener Questions! First up, we ponder which characters aren't really suited to the jobs they currently have on the show, and suggest some options for a career change. With the Weatherfield Precinct now open for business, there's a plethora of new employment opportunities for our favourite characters, or maybe - shock, horror! - some could get jobs a little further afield? Next up, we tackle the issue of the Bailey family, as after nearly four years on the show, many viewers feel that they're still being underwritten. What are the reasons behind this? We've certainly got our theories...

Spot the Corrie prop - February 3rd 2023

Congratulations this week go to CinCanada who was the first person to spot that last week's beautiful bowl of fruit can be found in Billy the Vicar's flat. Well done!

For this week's prop puzzle all you have to do is tell us whereabouts on Coronation Street you would find this tremendous tea cosy.

In the Rovers, Daisy describes her ordeal to Daniel when Glenda emerges with a funeral arrangement of flowers for her. Daisy assumes they are from Justin. Gemma and Chesney tell Jenny they’d like to book their wedding reception on 8th May.  When Jenny reveals that Daniel and Daisy are getting married that day too, Gemma points out to Chesney that it will save them money with so few guests.
