Coronation Street: Tyrone Dobbs look-a-like

With huge thanks to Canadian Coronation Street fan Christine Warren who runs the fab Coronation Street Fun Pages website, here's a brilliant Corrie look-a-like.  It's Tyrone Dobbs and a young Ray Winstone. 

Christine says that Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone, has even commented on the similarities himself in the past and has said that he'd love Ray Winstone on Coronation Street to play Tyrone's dad. Sounds good to us!

Corrie look-a-like: Frank Foster and Alan Shearer

Anyone else think that Coronation Street baddie Frank Foster has a look-a-like in ex-footballer and TV footy pundit Alan Shearer?  I noticed this a while ago and it appears I'm not the only one to think there's a similiarity there. Guardian journalist Sam Wollaston also comments on the likeness in his Corrie review here.

Maria Connor Look-a-like

While channel surfing yesterday, I came across a Miley Cyrus movie and was struck by the resemblence to Samia Smith aka Maria Connor.

Photos don't do it justice, but watching her in action, her facial expressions really did put me in mind of Maria.

When I saw Alastair Campbell on Newsnight the other evening, talking about the legacy of the late Michael Foot, I was struck by his resemblance to Simon Gregson. Could they be long lost twins? It's not just the tuft of hair at the front. Campbell also does a brilliant gurn.

Another Corrie double take

Swiftly following on from my blog post about Eddie and Eric, who are and will remain my personal faves, I couldn't resist adding yet another pairing to the already long list of Corrie look-a-likes.

This time it's nana Eve (Sabina Franklyn - and yes, I know her face is really small in the picture, but surprisingly there seem to be precious few photos of her around) and Pauline Prescott, spooky!

Does Eric Stoltz (left), from Quentin Tarantino's gore fest Pulp Fiction, remind you of anyone? Do the red ringlets and "casual attire" give a clue? And yes, I'll bet a wine gum to a barm cake that Eric is sporting a pair of snazzy socks 'n' slippers, too!It's none other than our fave hot Corrie male totty, Eddie "the bins" Windass (right)!

Yes, I know that our Eddie has already been twinned with him - sorry, Mick Hucknall - out of Simply Red, but surely Eric and Eddie were separated at birth? And wouldn't it be great if Eric agreed to do a Corrie cameo as Eddie Windass's long lost brother?

Audrey and her Royal Look-a-like

Perusing some photos from last week's Royal visit to the set of Coronation Street, I spied this photo of the Duchess of Cornwall together with Helen Worth and Sue Nicholls. For years, in online communities, it's been noted that the Duchess and Sue have very similar looks. I think it's even been a throwaway line in Corrie once where Audrey scowled and said she couldn't see the likeness, herself. I may be remembering incorrectly but I do know the resemblence does seem to be there. What do you think?
