Coronation Street Episode Review Monday 15th June

Coronation Street - Nick Toyah - ITV

Unlike every other troubled teen in the UK, Sam is seen straight away by the mental health team at Kate Oates Memorial hospital, and is given a potential diagnosis of schizophrenia. Not a psychotic break that's easily cured by a month off the street a la Carla, then. Nick receives the pretty bad news that Sam has been sectioned for his own good. He takes it out on Eva and Ben, saying the court case has caused the schizophrenic episode and then also tells Toyah to get out. Harsh.

Also dealing with the fallout from Will and Megan is, um, Will who contacts her over an online game. Is the government going to ban these too?

The girls/middle aged women are still cagey about their holiday destination We know its going to be in the hotel don't we - if the girls won't go to Spain, then Spain will go to the girls, via some '80s music, a paddling pool and plenty of booze. I refuse to believe Sally would go away with Bernie or Christina anyway - they're far too common. Although maybe if it cost £0, she would have. I guess there won't be any spin off DVDs of this. They're all chatting about their HABs when Brody bursts in, closely followed by a group of bad boys in pursuit of cans of lager. I don't think any of them are a match for Bernie, surely.

Coronation Street - Gary Sarah Maria - ITV

Sarah and Gary have another one of their "secret" hugs and cryptic convos, all watched over by Maria of loving grace. Maria looks through Gary's phone and the fact that he's deleted all his texts from Sarah since April is more suspicious than reading whatever they are talking about. Maria admits to Fiz and Izzy that she thinks her hubby has got a severe case of Platt-fever.

Coronation Street - Tyrone Kevin Ronnie Carl - ITV

Summer approaches Ty at the garage to tell him to keep away from her. Good plan, Summer. Also at the garage, Kev tells Carl that he won't give him a reference for a legit job, so Carl is tempted by Fiona - her dodgy jobs (not anything else). In the meantime, Kev finds the vid of Carl fiddling with the brakes on the car and tackles him about it. Ronnie tries to broker peace between the Webster bros, which doesn't go well since Kev threatens Carl with a wrench and Carl pulls a gun. Carl's a bit past his sell by date isn't he? I thought he'd been forced to leave on the day of the Swarla wedding. Hopefully this'll be the end of him.

Rachel Stevenson - on bluesky
