MAGGIE’S BIRTHDAY TURNS BACK TIME AS HER TRUE COLOURS ARE REVEALED…In this special flashback episode which focuses on Maggie’s birthday we see tensions flaring in the Rovers and learn there’s more to this family dynamic than meets the eye as we get a glimpse of Maggie’s earlier life and how the matriarchal mother-in-law from hell came to be. Eva’s made her dislike of Maggie quite clear, and with the feelings seemingly mutual, the audience will be left wondering if Eva needs to watch her back. What is Maggie really capable of?

Is this really what we want from Corrie? it seems to violate the basic principles of character based storytelling and is lazy, lazy writing. Does every character need a flashback? Theo? Becky? Summer? Introduce new character and let us get to know them through their actions in real time. Viewers will soon work out if they're good 'uns or wrong 'uns for themselves.
The last flashback episode we had was for Mick and Lou (They'll always be Nicky and Paulo to me) and they were gone 6 weeks later, rendering the entire thing a bit pointless.
I know people love Maggie, but I can't stand her. She makes me cringe.
Can't there be any new characters that don't arrive with a suitcase full of 'secrets'?
I'd like to see Corrie return to "normal" Everyone on the show is a crook or thief or cheater or murderer or manipulate or just plain friggin bad. Seriously...where are the fun times and laughs. Oh yeah...are there any good children out there? There aren't any on the Street. The adults lie and keep secrets from their partners and family. Jeezus. 🙄
Maggie is a reincarnation of Hilda Baker
Maggie has more than a resemblance to Hilda Baker, … and twice as annoying.
We need drama to keep the interest going but I agree that there is too much manipulation on with too many characters.
We've had laughs a- plenty with the women in business gathering and the karoke nights at the rovers.
We need conflict and that includes secret and lies. I know that it's a soap opera cliche.
If you don't like this kind of set up in TV drama, don't watch it. Watch something where nothing happens.
As for nice kids... Jake, Liam, Jack, Joseph, Alfie, Harry (no 3) Bertie and the quads, (plus Susie) are ok, aren't they?
