Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle Connor in Coronation Street, is to star as Elsie Tanner in the Corrie musical, Street of Dreams.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: "Elsie is one of the main characters so it was vital to get someone really strong. We are over the moon."
The musical is narrated by Paul O'Grady and the cast includes Bill Roache (Ken Barlow) plus Street legends Julie Goodyear (Bet Lynch) and Kevin Kennedy (Curly Watts).
Is anyone going to see this musical who would like to review it for us here on the blog as we won't be making a trip to Manchester for this.

Good luck to her but I think the character of Michelle Connor has now been completely exhausted and to keep her on and on is not good planning.
I'm going to see the musical :) can't wait, think kym marsh is perfect for elsie
not strong enough to play elsie , very hard act to follow , she was the best . and i agree michelle caracter is going nowhere , they dump better .
