Coronation Street Episode Review Easter Monday

Jenny and Dom speak in the pub as Daisy and Christina watch them in Corrie

Christina organises "Dom" to come meet Jenny and they get on very well and he talks about an investment he's making and how anyone coming in on the same investment stands to make a lot of moolah. I'm presuming Daisy's leaving story is going to be her stealing the £60K from Jenny and running off, just as Jenny did to Rita back in 1993.

Coronation Street is full of explosive scenes next week as Theo Silverton's secret is exposed

George is polishing his Mary when Danielle comes in to gossip about Sarah flirting with Kit when she's "going out" with Todd. George spills the Heinz and tells Danielle that Todd plays for the other team. The game's afoot! Sarah sticks her beak in further and comforts Theo re: his messy life and Danielle spots them and puts 2 and 2 together and makes 67, calling out Sarah in the pub. Eileen tells Todd to get home now. "What am I, 12?" asks Todd. Well, you are still living with your mummy, Todd. The extended Grimshaw family try to persuade Theo to ditch his wife and kids and run off with the Toddster, but Theo is not keen on this plan and Toddy agrees to keep it a secret.

Julie, who doesn't seem to have a palliative care nurse, is in a lot of pain but agrees to go out for brunch with Brian. Whilst I welcome more Brian, I'm not into this terminal romance, I'm #TeamMaryandBrian. They go out to Roy's but Brian abandons her for an emergency in the shop, leaving Julie to talk to Roy about her pain and the upcoming end of her life. Brian brings Julie some midget gems and they share a moment.

Coronation Street lines up sudden change for Mick and Lou story

Gemma is freezing our Lou and Mick, although Mick doesn't feel the same about Sean, telling him he's on his "list". Brody taunts Dylan and mocks him for having a gay dad, so Dylan punches and kicks him, but the rest of the boys don't tell on him. Is Dylan top dog now? Or top puppy, I suppose.

Jason Manford's chunky cousin and the rogue midwife turn up to apologise to Deedee and say they've asked for more training in black maternity healthcare. So racism in the NHS is now solved!

Charlotte Jordan interview: Daisy leaves Weatherfield

Daisy makes her exit next week – how is she feeling about leaving Weatherfield? And how are you feeling about leaving?

I think it’s very bittersweet for Daisy. Weatherfield has been her home for a while now and, early on, was giving her all the things she wanted – family, community, stability, people to love more than she perhaps loves herself – but it’s also been the source of so much trauma for her. I think we’ve watched her slowly try to pick up the pieces since her stalking storyline, but she’s ultimately realised she doesn’t need to stay in a place that’s caused her so much heartbreak. And it’s just as well she’s running far away to the other side of the planet, as she’s left a mountain of destruction and angry people in her wake!

As for me, I’m feeling really grateful for my years on the show and the people I’ve gotten to work with. Kate has been so supportive about me wanting to go back out into the audition circuit and very generous with Daisy’s exit story, as she really wanted to do the character justice. And I can’t tell you how much fun the other cast members and I had playing out this last hurrah.

What’s her relationship like with Jenny now? They’ve both done and said awful things to each other, but is all forgiven from both sides now?

It’s so fractured now. And it’s so sad, as we’re used to seeing them so in sync. I think Daisy’s harbouring some real resentment there, especially after what Jenny said about her miscarriage and her little brother’s death. She feels she’s very much been backed into a corner here. I suppose that’s the only way she can justify her final betrayal of Jenny – it’s actually very reminiscent of Jenny’s early relationship with Rita. It’s like Daisy is Jenny’s penance for all the grief she used to give poor Rita!

What about Christina? How does Daisy feel towards her mum after trying to cut her out of the deal?

Daisy knows exactly what her mother is like. She keeps giving Christina these chances to step up and be there for her (no matter how morally grey the scenario), and every time Christina throws it back in her face. She wants to believe Christina can change, but I think she’s more mad at herself for continuing to allow Christina to hurt her – when Daisy knows that’s all she’s ever done. But unfortunately for Christina, you reap what you sow, and no one can manipulate and backstab quite like our Daisy!

Although it’s bittersweet because Daisy is finally putting herself first after quite a lot of heartbreak with her relationship with Daniel, how does she feel towards him? Will Daisy always love Daniel?

Of course she will. I think they’ll both be each other’s “what if” love story. I think we’ll all be mourning what could have been. I think she also knows, deep down, that if Daniel were fully aware of what she’s about to do to Jenny, he wouldn’t be willing to let it slide and continue to stand by her side. So it’s almost like she’s cutting him loose before she can see how disappointed in her he’ll be.

It’s an emotional exit for Daisy – how was filming your last scenes? And what was your last day like?

I’m not a big crier. But let me tell you, I cried on and off for about four hours straight. My last scene was with the beautiful Rob Mallard, and we were meant to cry in the scene – but we were both dry as a bone. As soon as they yelled our final "cut," we both burst into tears. Typical.

The Corrie gang made it so special for me. The canteen made me my favourite lunch – which made me cry. The art department drew me a beautiful card – which made me cry. I would look over to Channique or Julia or Sal during our last lunch break and see them crying – which made me cry. I think I was medically dehydrated by the end of the day.

It’s a very special building, and I have loved it. And it’s just goodbye for now, not goodbye forever.

Preview of today's Coronation Street - Monday 21 April 2025

Monday 21 April 2025

SARAH TAKES THE BLAME FOR TODD A despondent Todd confides in Sarah that he suspects Theo will never have the guts to tell his family the truth about his sexuality. Meanwhile when Danielle tells George about Sarah flirting with Kit whilst being with Todd an amused George puts her straight about Todd’s sexuality. A furious Danielle spots Sarah putting a comforting arm around Theo. She catches up with Sarah and Todd in the cafe and accuses Sarah of having an affair with Theo. Can Sarah get out of this one without telling the truth?

DYLAN STANDS HIS GROUND On the street, Mick threatens Sean and spells out that if he causes Brody any more aggro, there will be hell to pay. Mick calls at the Rovers and tells Gemma that he and Lou would like her to join them for tea. Jenny warns Gemma she should steer well clear of the pair of them. At the STC, Brody goads Dylan with homophobic comments about Sean. Dylan sees red and punches Brody, knocking him to the floor and kicking him. What will happen to Dylan? When Sean overhears Lou confirming with Gemma what time she wants her to come round for dinner, he’s furious and accuses Gemma of siding with the enemy. Gemma feels terrible.

JULIE BREAKS DOWN TO ROY Julie decides that she wants to spend the fundraiser money on a trip to the Lakes. In the cafe she is clearly in a lot of pain, Roy gives her a heated wheat sack explaining that Hayley swore by them and she breaks down in tears. When Brian confides in Roy that he’s still very much in love with Julie,  Roy urges him to tell her. How will Julie react?

DEE DEE TURNS A CORNER An apologetic Wes and Zoe call to see Dee Dee at the corner shop flat. Dee Dee tells Alya that she had a very constructive meeting with them and explains they have agreed to push for extra training focusing on black maternity experiences. Convinced that she’s turned a corner, Dee-Dee declares that she’s ready to return to work.

CHRISTINA TAKES THE CATFISH GAME UP A GEAR Jenny is thrilled when ‘Dom’ arrives in the Rovers. Daisy is shocked but Christina explains to Daisy that it’s all part of her plan. When Dom confides in Jenny that he’s selling his business and anyone who invests in it in the next few days will be guaranteed to double their money she is clearly interested, unaware of Christina and Daisy’s subterfuge.
