Where have you seen Talisa before?

If you're wondering where you've seen Dev's friend Talisa before, then wonder no more.

Talisa is played by actress Samantha Power, who has appeared in Coronation Street before.

She turned up in 1995 as Emma Baxter, a potential purchaser of No. 9 from the Duckworths.

Her role in Coronation Street was one of her first parts but she has since built up a strong CV including A Prince Among Men, Peak Practice, City Central, Where the Heart Is, a regular role in Little Britain and The Cup, Waterloo Road and several parts in Doctors.

Let's just hope Talisa isn't another one to add to the T for Trouble blog post!

I thought she would be a beautiful Indian lady.....but I found myself thinking she is not cuter than Julie! This does not make sense at all. Dev is Deb and for him to get involved with someone else....you would think she would be young and hot or of some substance....first impressions are that she is neither! Corrie writers...arrrgh! But in the meantime....my heartstrings were really pulled for Kyley. I think she and David deserve some happiness....can't wait to see them get back together.

I'm also really disappointed that Talisa wasn't a beautiful Indian woman - what a lost opportunity! And so unlikely that she would turn out to be some plain blonde person.

I agree about Talisia - another miscast character - and who would just turn up on someone's doorstep like that from thousands of miles away? Very convenient indeed that Brian has also turned up out the blue. The actress who plays Julie has also lost a lot of weight I noticed.

I'm not sure why this conversation is bothering me so much, except that I can't really see why Dev, just because he's Indian and back from a stay in India, must hook up with a beautiful, exotic Indian woman. In fact, he's done that so often in the past, if he had done it this time, some of us might have complained that the writers were rehashing old storylines. So, I, personally, want to say that I'm glad Dev's tastes have changed. In a global world, an Indian guy doesn't have to date an Indian woman. Given that Talisa is a potential yoga instructor, she is almost certainly a Western woman who traveled to India for a spiritual experience, which she will have shared with Dev. Talisa sounds like the kind of name hippie parents might have given to their child in the 60s. I look forward to finding out more about her history and seeing how she contrasts/clashes with Julie.

With Dev having been in India so long, surely it would be far more likely he would hook up with an Indian woman rather than a British one?? There can't be as many British women living in India.
