Coronation Street Episode Review Friday 8 November 2024

Welcome.  Sometimes we all accept that the Street goes off the main thoroughfare and such diversions are not to everyone's taste.  So it is tonight and we end with everyone reconciled over the loss of Paul and knowing that he is now in a better place, even if the journey has been somewhat tortuous from Billy and a bottle, Bernie dumping Dev and taking him back, hypothermia to finally end with Bernie referring to her four children (Apollo, Gemini, Kit and Billy plus the quad squad), standing hand in hand with Billy as it rains - bringing just a little of Paul back to earth.

Bethany has changed her mind and has returned to Daniel's flat where she decides that with her bump all the clothes have to go and she can only wear hoodies and baggy jumpers.  However she jumps back when they try to make up and assures Daniel she is ready - only she isn't.  He re-assures her that if the stoma is keeping her alive then he loves it.  Later Daniel asks Daisy to store some of the clothes as he knows Bethany will regret dumping them at some future point.

David is taking steps to ensure that attempts by Clayton to contact Shona are failing, deleting emails and ignoring phone calls from the prison.  Almost certainly the steps will fail.  Come morning Shona receives an email - head lice at Lily's school again.

Tim has taken pity on Mason and moves him onto the sofa and lets him get a shower.  Mason's disreputable brothers turn up, spotting him emerging from Sal's and know he is onto a good thing.  Some time later Sal and Tim return from the cafe to find the car has been twoc'd and Tim admits Sal's mother's engagement ring was in the car plus the car keys have gone from inside the house and Tim immediately believes that Mason is the one to blame as there is no sign of a forced entry.

Dee Dee admits to Eddie that she borrowed Ronnie's crowbar and she found Joel with a suitcase (on up to DS Swain) and then hit Joel once, killing him.  Dee Dee then rang Kit (using a disguised voice) telling him where to find the body - but as we know Joel was most definitely alive when Kit arrived but luckily his car's attendance has been removed from the police records.  Ed points out that Joel was found elsewhere so still must have been alive.

In the round I think we have said all our farewells to Paul.  And finding Joel's "killer" made no real progress.  Bethany is learning to live with a bump.  And I reckon Mason left the front door open when he left and he is not responsible for the missing car.  No doubt we will find out much more next week and I believe I will be able to reveal all next Friday.
