The good news is that Friday's episode will finally reveal Who Killed Joel. The bad news is that I accidentally read a spoiler and know whodunnit, but I will not reveal all here. In the meantime, Deedee turns up at the cop shop to confess to the crowbarring of Joel. Kit thinks he's got her bang to rights but then Tinks appears to say they've found a rock with Joel's DNA all over it. Kit then arrests Lisa and releases Deedee. Gonna be a bit awks when the Swainer is back in the office, non?
As much as I like Swain and Kit, I would like a little break from CSI: Weatherfield, maybe we can check in with some of the older characters? I would love some more Jessie and Gail before we lose Helen Worth forever.
Talking of crime, Tim approaches Mason and one of his dodgy brothers (I'm not going to bother to learn either of their names) to accuse him of stealing the car and ring. Mason goes 'round to number 4 to apologise to Sally but she calls the cops - although is pressured by Mason to say nothing about the theft on pain of being beaten up by this brothers.
Since the ghost of Paul past turned up (like a bad penny), Billy and Bernie have become bestest buds. This is a bit ruined as Todd rocks up to see if Billy is OK at the same time that Gemma pops 'round to the flat. She gives Todd a mouthful, calling him a "grave robbing gollum". Quite nice to see the gobby Gemma back rather than grieving Gemma, although she and Billy have made up by the end of the episode.
Weren't Gemma and Clayton pals back in the day? Maybe she could give David some pointers on how to deal with him. David turns to Nick instead, who suggests that he needs to tell Shona that Clayton has sent a visiting order, pointing out and that Shona will no doubt find out anyway. This isn't Nick's first rodeo! David ignores him and goes to visit Clayton in chokey, who's been seeing a counsellor and is trying to come to terms with what he's done. David lies to his stepson, telling him Shona wants nothing more to do with him. David is about to 'fess up to Shona, but then she talks about having another child and he can't do it.
Oh and finally, Sabrina fetches up at the hospital to give her blessing to Max and Lauren. I guess that's the last we'll see of her! A shame as she was a good character.

Poor old Sabrina - is there a little bit of casual racism at play here? The only black character in this group of teenagers is the one that gets the least screen time?
I agree totally that we need to see some of the more established characters. I haven’t seen Brian for ages and Jenny is hardly ever seen. Have the writers forgotten how to write for these characters and can only write stories based on crime? I have no interest in the likes of Bobby, Lauren, Mason or even Max. It’s not because they are younger, I don’t mind stories involving Amy, Aadi, Asha or Summer because we have seen them grow and know their families.
Is Sabrina the one who killed Joel, perhaps in self defense? Why else would she show up, after being off the screen for months.
