Time to bring back Sally's sister?
I don't know why I've never seen this before. It's almost uncanny. Do you agree that Jane Horrocks (Bubble from Absolutely Fabulous) would be perfect casting as Sally Webster's sister?
I know back in the 1980s Gina Seddon did make an appearance, portrayed by actress Julie Foy, staying with Sally and Kevin and helping out in the cafe. However the stint was quite brief and long ago now so a spot of re-casting wouldn't be a massive issue. I think seeing a bit of Sally's back history would be great.
Going back to the early days of Sally and Kevin, Hilda Ogden made it clear the Seddon family came from the wrong side of the tracks, so wrong that the Ogdens looked down their noses at them!
Given Sally's modern day pretensions and hanging basket snobbery, wouldn't it be terrific for her dodgy past to be explored? I've given up hope that we'll see Kevin's sister Debbie again even though the fantastic Sue Devaney is still around and working. I think scenes of Sally bickering with her sister would be terrific and if you throw Tim into the mix it could make for a fun, interesting dynamic.
Jane Horrocks would be perfect casting and quite a coup for the Street. She's from the right part of the world, is a super actress with great comic timing and capable of so many different things.
So what do you think? Would you like to see Sally's sister return to Weatherfield? And if so, would Jane Horrocks do it for you?

It's a possibility and something I would welcome! :)
I'd rather see Sally move to her sister, than the other way around. That way we're rid of her, preferably for good. Then we could have Jane Horrocks in as a new character, specifically developed for her and her talents. She could be the new manager at Frescos...
I think it could be a good idea to bring in Sally's sister but some dead wood needs to be culled when they bring in new characters. Julie needs to go. Not bothered if it were Jane Horrocks who is a big star now or a talented unknown, just not an ex Emmerdale or EE actress please!
Oh no! Wouldnt want rid of Sally, she's a great character!
Not sure if Jane is a good idea, although Sally's sister appearing could be interesting. Problem I see with Jane portraying the character is that she is too well known as Bubble and Little Voice, and might actually distract rather than blend, IMO.
I wouldn't want to get rid of Sally but I would love to see Jane Horrocks in any role!
bring her into tne story dont take Sally out...u know how sistets are for ur man...who knows........ :))
I like!
Yes please would love the magic Sally needs some family interacting and this would work so well - if done properly the sister could be just what the street. Jane would bring in some much needed magic and perhaps knock Sally down a peg get her back on an even keel abit and show her that she is wonderful without the trying to be posh...
Excellent idea-but since Julie Foy is still acting,I believe, why not give her her old part again?
I agree Mark taha, Julie Foy still acts now mainly in theatre. She should be allowed to play the part again, as she was brill in the role. Bring back Julie Foy and Gina Seddon.
