To see him shouting at Lesley was a indicator that he is reaching breaking point. To me it seems that Paul can't bring himself to put Lesley in a care home, as he feels as if he was abandoning her to be with Eileen.
While putting Lesley in a home would mean more time for Eileen, I don't think it would be fair to say that it is his sole reason. Paul needs to to do it to get his life back, he also needs to let Eileen get her life back, she's spent the whole first quarter of this year caring for Lesley, and that is simply not fair on Eileen.

It doesn't have to all or nothing with a care home. I'm surprised Corrie aren't showing the possibliities open to Paul regarding care. There's day care where she could get picked up and dropped off every day (social servies/council organise this in my area of Sunderland) and also in-house care where she gets a home help. Let's hope these options are shown to people so that anyone who's watching this in a position like Paul know they can do something to help themselves and their loved ones with dementia.
Thats a good point, I also wonder what happened to the whole carer thing, surely a replacement would be sent straight away?
It would up here in the north-east. I know from current experience with a family member ;-( I also know from that experience just what a good, excellent, job the actress who plays Lesley is doing. Corrie have certainly done their research.
Corrie have certainly done their home work by researching Alzheimer's and Lesley is very believable. However, the story line, as many have said, lets it down. I'd like to think that question marks over replacement carers, delays in returning to their house etc are part of a darker story yet to unfold. Maybe there is something we haven't been told about Paul. But, probably not. At the moment, it just looks like sloppy writing,
i have never liked paul ,i think hes a phoney,or mybe just a bad actor,or thats the way the part as been written for him,we will see x
Lesley has been excellent in this story. I sympathise with her, but not with either Eileen or Paul. Their relationship has been poorly written - it's not believable and frankly Paul just comes across as a very dull leech.
Again, Corrie cannot resist the temptation to sensationalise. Lesley can't try to cook herself chips and start a fire, no she has to abduct a child. As Nora points out, the care options available have not been mentioned. It looks like Lesley and Paul have been abandoned by all except St Eileen.
It all ends up looking sordid, rushed and unrealistic, like Graeme and Xin or Marc and Marcia.
To be fair, Lesley didn't abduct Amy, she just took her to the park, most likely she had mistook her for her neice again, and thought she'd come around to visit
Strange as it may sound, I sometimes wonder if the actress is actually suffering from the condition, but that shows brilliant acting.
I reckon they will have an attempted suicide storyline where Paul decides he can't cope anymore and plans on driving the car into a canal. I'm sure something similar has been done on other shows. In fact, I think its happened in real life.
Poor Lesley, of course she didnt "abduct" Amy just took her to the park because Amy instigated it. There has been no menton of children so perhaps she lost one, she clearly likes Amy and a big to do was made when the skanky Tracy shouldnt have disappeared leaving the gate unlocked when her daughter was supposed to be sick anway! I cannot abide Paul, a lisping side partinged creep that expects his mistress who has no caring experience to look after his wife! Kissing and canoodling and probably having sex with Eileen with Lesley a few feet away is frankly disgusting and dispicable. He is a freeloader and a bastard. I hope he is NOT going to be a long term character. How long does it take to replaster a house for goodness sakes! Frosty would like to give him a bunch of fives. He is ruining the character of Eileen and making people including myself dislike her.

Good actress aside, this storyline reeked. I didn't really care for Eileen from the beginning - such a gobby cow, but now, I cannot stand the character and her and Paul getting busy of the sofa was a total turn off. Ugh
