This is all Nick's fault. If he'd just given Sam his phone back, none of it would've happened. In fact, why was poor old Sam having to go 'round the pub in the first place? Which 15 year old wants to watch his 7 year old sort of cousin doing her song 'n' dance recital? (Whenever Toyah sees Suzy being a theatre kid, she looks like she's glad she gave her back to Eva when Suzy was a baby). Leanne hasn't bothered to turn up to see her sis in the hospital - Glenda does, but is kicked out by Ben. D.C. Green also rocks up to interview Eva - obvs we know she was pushed, but wouldn't everyone just assume she'd tripped on the stairs?
Also I realise that Sam has schizophrenia but the 180 from him being a chess nerd to being a troubled teen has been quite the giddy ride. He doesn't seem to feel that guilty, while Glenda is blaming herself and Ben also says that he shouldn't have gone to London and left Eva alone. Debbie castigates herself, saying that she should've got help for Eva. Also playing the blame game is Ronnie, although he's fingering Carl, who's bound to get the blame, especially when Debbie finds Carl's cash-stuffed wallet and dobs him in to Kit.
In minor storylines, Jodie is showing David what a wonderful wife she'd be by coming up with a rota for the childcare and household chores. I don't think this is such a great seduction technique as she clearly thinks it is. And going to bed early, Lucy wakes up after having night terrors or sleep walking (it isn't clear which), and starts saying that it's all her fault. Well, we know that!
And finally, Betsy goes back to work at the factory to get some experience before her interview (also because Underworld's sick pay is woeful). She falls asleep on the job and Carla comforts her when she becomes upset.
