Well, it has to rank amongst the great u-turns of all time. Burton and Taylor it was not. Steve sporting a dodgy hairdo, Tracy-luv resplendent in her M & S mac. A windswept canalside. A relationship made in heaven. Or probably Evans outsize store for the larger lady, given that Tracy will be the size of Jackson's chippy pretty soon. Yes, the coming together of the hapless lovers will be celebrated across the land. Or will it? Is it more a case that Steve and Tracy are so toxic when it comes to lurve that the only people then can no longer contaminate are each other?
I'd get a bet on down at the bookies that the MacBarlow paring will not last a year. Will Tracy revert to type once the Tracy Twins have made an appearance? Can Steve really settle into a relationship with Weatherfield's very own she-devil? Is it possible for them to survive together in a house filled with Tracy's never-ending supply of red tops and Steve's never-ending girth? Or will love win through? Deirdre may just need to buy herself a new hat next year . . .

Enjoyed watching tonights episodes until Becky had to end up been showing on our screens. The sooner she leaves the better as I just don't like watching her.
I'm wondering about Steve's brain size, not his girth. Doesn't ask for a DNA test when the she-devil said Amy was his, now no mention again of a DNA test with the latest pregnancy. We are not talking Claire here, but a convicted murderer hated by all on the street except Ken and Diedre. At one time he was one of my favourite characters but the writers have made him so stupid that I might be cheering for the she-devil to do her best number on him.
Doesn't Tracy have a miscarriage and blame in on Becky which is the lead-in to her leaving the street.
The most annoying thing about Tracy aside from every little thing about this character is the bangs..cut the goddam bangs!!
I've also read that somewhere, that Tracy loses the babies and blames it on Becky who has nothing to do with it.
I know that Becky's been through a lot as a character, and this past year she's been more trouble and sometimes unhappy, but she and Steve were so cute together if you can call it that. And Tracy and Steve are so not right together. She's done everything in her power to split Steve's partners up to land him for herself. She should have won him round another way. And by lying about who's fault it is when it may just turn out to be the standard miscarriage? So not right.
But I'm going to miss Becky's character. Though she's had her ups and downs and more downs this year, it'd be nice if she could leave the street with some positive news. My mom was thinking she should somehow get pregnant, because she wants a child.
I kind of do hope when she does leave that Steve will realise what a big mistake he fell for with Tracy. Apparently the Corrie writers have left some room for Katharine if she wished, to return. So here's hoping. She's although yes as I've said she's had her ups and downs, she's one of my fav characters.
"Do you really want to hit a pregnant woman, Becky? Do you know what being pregnant means?"
How cold hearted is Tracy. So vile, saying that to Becky who she knows can't have children and who she knows would have loved to have children.
And Steve won't hear about this from Becky's lips or Tracy's.
All in all, a funny (what with Eileen getting stuck) and a sad episode (Tracy being really cruel to Becky).
And Roy's mom was nice at least to Becky. She's not as cold as she was when she first came into it.
I find all this lovey dovey business with Steve and the vile Tracy who made his life a misery for years and murdered her lover, frankly ridiculous, emphasised by Kate Ford's am dram style of acting. And what has happened to Steve's hair - it looks more bouffant than my granny when she comes back from her weekly shampoo and set!!! Has he been visiting Audreys?
I just hope there'll be a big McBar wedding, can't wait to see Deirdre's fascinator for that one!
Never mind - we are looking forward to seeding Katherine Kelly in 'She Stoops to Conquer' at the National in January. You can shout at the character but there's no doubting she's a brilliant actress
I've always been a big admirer of Katherine Kelly, and her last few episodes, in which the writers have writen Becky quiter and more stoical, rather than the hysteria that has made her character so generally unpopular, show why. She is capable of a level of pathos that is deeply moving, something Kate Ford could only dream of. I too will be booking to see her at the National.
I have never stopped loving Katherine Kelly's performances and always loved Becky as a character. Full marks from me for last night. tracy is already reverting to form, she never left it, taunting Becky in the toilets, after all. Steve has been attracted to one loose cannon after another and Tracy is the worst of the lot and it can't end well.
I can't stand Tracy and this baby rubbish is terrible. Why they renewed her contract is beyond me.
How many times does Tracy say "STEVE" we were trying to count them the other day.

There is nothing to stop Becky getting pregnant. She isn't infertile. But she can't sustain a pregnancy, so if she did get pregnant, she would miscarry again. That's why she can't have children. It isn't that she can't conceive.
Steve is clearly just trying to make the best of a bad job. He feels he has lost his entire family, with Jim, Liz and Andy having pretty much cut him off, so that Amy and now the unborn twins are all he has left to cling to. But if he wants the children, he has to find a way to make things work with Tracy, too, so that's what he's trying to do - he certainly doesn't love her, but he does know her inside out. He wants that to be enough to make a go of it because he wants those babies.
I'm in Canada and when these eppie's air I think I will give the show a miss. I have been a loyal viewer for 30 plus years but I cannot sit through that vile b""tch Tracey making remarks about not being able to conceive again! We endured it when she constantly shouted "Barren Karen" enough is enough. Who the hell acts like that! As someone who suffered from infertility for 15 years it is too painful for me to watch.
Tracy/Steve: Complete rubbish. Cheryl/Chris: Just Go. Eileen getting her head stuck in the railings: Entertaining. Why can't we have more stories and writing like that?
As much as I hate watching Tracy, there was something strangely "right" about last night's episodes. Right as in the worst possible outcome for those two, the MacBarlows, right there on the screen. Without Becky and her supportive duo of Hayles and Sylvia, it would have been unbearable though. I cheered when Sylvia told it like it was about Tracy! That was just what Bex needed to hear (and me too). That and because she picked up on the advice to let her marriage end with dignity, which she did. Great acting, Katherine!
I too have always liked Becky, and enjoyed the spark between her & Steve. He seemed to always have fun with her, well, not after the tram crash. With Karen, it was all about the bedroom instead of enjoying a laugh through life's hardships. I think he's going to regret this agreement with Tracy Luv quicker than you can say smirk.
There's a fine line between character and cartoon. We couldn't stand Becky when she was an immature impulsive drunk. Now, what a difference. For me, Becky & Steve never worked; it came out of the blue, and the stories (Max,...) were too far fetched, but when she's with Roy & Haley, her character has always been so rich. Even at the factory, she's a great spark to that ensemble. I hope Becky leaves on happy terms and comes back one day, even for a visit, with some type of success.
Tracy, still a one trick pony. Vile, conniving, shallow. We're stuck with her. Ugh. And I think Steve realized it, too.
