Graeme Hawley, who plays John Stape, has been attacked in a Manchester bar by a so-called Coronation Street 'fan' who couldn't tell the difference between a TV programme and real-life.
The Mirror says that Graeme was accosted in a Manchester pub by a man ranting about his on-screen character John Stape's fling with Rosie Webster.
The man managed to get Graeme in a headlock before he was dragged off by other pub-goers and fled.
Graeme said some fans are unable to separate real life from soap story lines, adding: "It's a constant issue, people giving their opinions on your character. It comes with the job. You become a target in bars. I stayed away from pubs during the World Cup. I thought if England lose it would become my fault."

I don't know where this story came from, everybody seems to be running it but Graeme is rather bemused by it, saying it never happened.
