Jenny Bradley vs Rita, let the stand-off commence

Wednesday 25th February is when we'll see Rita Tanner come face to face with ex-foster daughter Jenny Bradley.  Our blogger Llifon wrote a wonderful blog post on the history of Jenny Bradley, you can read it here.

And here, below, in a nutshell, taken from Llifon's words, is Jenny Bradley's backstory and why Rita meeting Jenny on Corrie this coming week is something to be savoured...

Jenny joined Corrie in 1986 aged 14 as a Kabin papergirl. Rita took her in as foster daughter with Social Services and then fell for Jenny’s dad, Alan Bradley who tried to kill Rita and was run down by a Blackpool tram.

Jenny blamed Rita for Alan’s death, she moved to halls at Manchester Polytechnic, had a nervous breakdown and Rita helped her recover. Jenny bored of Uni life, met dentist Robert Weston, 12 years her senior, and left the street with Robert in 1991.

In 1993 she returned to Corrie without Robert. Rita was glad to have her back and ignored Alf Roberts' claims that Jenny was using her. Jenny discovered Robert had cleared their joint account and Rita offered her a loan.

Jenny wondered why Rita was still living above the Kabin when she owned Ted Sullivan’s house in Oakhill. She tried to persuade Rita to sell the flat and the pair of them move into Ted’s house. Rita realised then that Jenny was only after an inheritance.

Jenny asked Rita for £30,000 to set up a salon. Rita refused and told Jenny she wouldn’t get anything from her in her will. She wrote her a cheque for £1,000 and told her to get lost.

And that was the last we ever saw of Jenny Bradley until she turned up last week luring Kevin Webster to share a pudding..

Roll on Wednesday and let the Rita vs Jenny stand-off commence!

I thank you all for the updates on the history between Rita and Jenny, as it was some time ago and necessary to understand the drama today.

What I'm still left curious about is the history between Jenny and Kevin. I realize they've connected via the Internet and certainly his residence on the Street is a shared interest but what was Kevin up to the last time Jenny was on the Street and how much interaction did they have?

I am enjoying Jennys return so far. She seems a genuine persono far but suspect of course that she has an agenda. Poor old Kev seems a bit smitten, cant wait for the inevitable gunfight at the Rovers corrall LADY!

don't worry, all that history will be forgotten or unresearched by the writers :)

Why did she have to return ? No new ideas for the show I guess. I was happy to see Jenny gone and I can see Kevin getting back with her..
