Now this time, you really would need to have a heart of stone to remain unaffected by Tyrone. The opening scene shows us an utterly distraught Tyrone, leaving a message for Kirsty. 'I'm not going to give up on you or our baby,' he tells Kirsty's voicemail. Given Tyrone's mental state, it was no wonder that Tommy's linguistic musings on whether we should say that we peel or unpeel a banana, must have been irritating in the extreme. That irritation exploded into anger a couple of times and Chesney got the worst of it. Kevin, true to form, his intellect once again setting the world on fire, as he informs Tyrone that, 'You can't go attacking the punters.'
Tina, doing her best to comfort Tyrone is duly dismissed, after she points out that Kirsty is a bully and a control freak. All true but perhaps not an advisable description at this point as Tyrone laments his love-lot, having lost Molly and now Kirsty, or so it seems.
So Norris isn't happy with Ernest's shoes, despite the fact that new shoes would be 'nipping my bunions like a shoal of piranhas.' Emily is dissatisfied with Norris's response to her offer of her dead husband's shoes and points out that they're 'not possessed' when Norris expresses distaste with the idea of 'dancing in a dead man's shoes.'
Surely Tracey's statement,'You know me, anything to help somebody' must go down as a classic. She is looking decidedly off-colour though but Emily is at her wit's end. She pronounces, 'You are a lazy, feckless, self-centred, spoilt little brat.' A discussion of Tracey's behaviour ensues outside with Ken and Emily who speak of Tracey in the third person as she reminds them that she is there. Both Ken and Emily take up a tough love stance and Tracey is homeless.
Mary, in her delight that it will just be her and Roy at the Elgar concert, orders an egg- custard. Her fast beating heart about to burst with emotion, encourages her to push the boat out and so she orders a chocolate eclair. Life in the fast lane Mary!
