Paula announced their engagement on twitter.
The Daily Mail reports that Paula Lane and fellow actor Shaw have been dating since meeting at college in Huddersfield when they were 17 and moved in together in Manchester earlier this year.
Earlier this year, she proclaimed she knew he was 'the one' and hoped to marry him one day. She told the Daily Star Sunday: "we're feeling very lucky at the moment as we're both in a position where we're working. I think we're just enjoying being young, having holidays and loving life as a couple But saying that, I'd definitely say yes to getting married if he asked me. I think he's waiting to make sure it feels right - but he's had long enough."
