William Roache, who plays Coronation Street's Ken Barlow, has been interviewed on Sky TV. And today's Mirror has some of the dialogue from the interview, saying that he told the stunned chat show host all humans will soon communicate by telepathy.
He also predicted a series of earthquakes, hurricanes, floods and tsunamis – but claimed that these disaster would be necessary to disperse “negative energy”.
He said: “Unfortunately there are some cleansings that will have to take place where negative energy has to be discharged and these will be in the form of earthquakes, hurricanes, floods and tsunamis. The doom and gloom, as they are saying, is that December 21st, 2012, is the end of the Earth. It isn’t, but it’s the change and the end of a lot of things as we know them. We’ll move into the golden age which will be a wonderful age where we’ll all love. We’ll communicate telepathically, we’ll all be aware of our spiritual selves, and it will be a beautiful place to be." What, even in Weatherfield?
Anyway, you get the idea, there's more of his rambling from the interview at The Mirror website. I don't agree with any of his views, but I do think he's very brave to go on TV and put his beleifs out there, knowing full well he'll get flack from all quarters.
And, er, he also believes in angels. Well, each to their own. It's not my cup of tea, but whatever floats your boat, I suppose.
The full interview is on The Moore Show this Friday, 6pm on Sky Showcase.

I'd love it if we all can communicate telepathically!
Oh dear, oh dear!
Playing a level-headed, grounded, and even-tempered 'boring' :) character continuously for 50 years was bound to affect the mind, to some degree. You know the kind of thing; self aggrandisement or even delusions of grandeur, whatever, it wouldn't be entirely unexpected - but predicting the future evolvement of mankind and celestial beings? With absolute certainty?
Tsk! That's worse than I thought. That's moving into fruit bat territory! It does happen amongst the least likely of people. My perception of the actor William Roach, has irrevocably changed forever - and that's not a prediction.
Go ahead, read my mind.
It's even worse than all that David Icke stuff. He's a member of the Conservative Party.
I'd like it if we moved into a more peaceful time after December 21, 2112. What would be wrong with that? I just can't see humans evolving rapidly in any particular direction, though. Perhaps if all the unpeaceful countries are affected by earthquakes, tsunamis, etc., that'll give them reason for pause. Let's hope so.
