News in from the papers today is that Maggie Jones, who plays Blanche Hunt, is ill in hospital. It's sad news indeed and I'm sure all Corrie fans will join in wishing Maggie a very speedy recovery indeed.
The Manchester Evening News says that Maggie was taken to Salford Royal Hospital on Saturday. She underwent emergency surgery for an existing condition and was today described as 'very poorly'. Corrie officials have revealed she has been written out of future episodes. And they rubbished reports in the tabloids that she had fallen and ruptured her spleen.

Oh no, no, no,no, no!!! Dame Blanche MUST be OK. She's the reason I watch Corrie! She's the only one that will call out, "the Emperor's got no clothes on!"
Every other Corrie character, as much as I like them are just plain, ordinary gasbags compared to this fine creature!
I hope she recovers quickly. She is one of my favourites too.
There's a better story about Maggie here: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/showbiz/s/1169469_coronation_street_star_seriously_ill
I do hope that she's back roaming the cobbles soon.
Bless her.
Hope all goes well and that she is back on the cobbes soon
