The new series of Ashes to Ashes returns to BBC 1 soon and TV guru Ian Wylie has seen the preview and the trailer and teases fans of both A2A and Coronation Street by saying that there's a reference to a Corrie legend in the first episode.
He's not saying who it is... but who was big in the 80s - bigger than the show itself, some would argue... - could it possibly be Bet Lynch?

It has to be, or Hilda Ogden as she was in it for at least the first half of the 80s and Ashes takes place in the early 80s.
yeah, either of those could qualify as "legend" i guess, not many could though!
