Following in a curmudgeonly line of Coronation Street codgers, news reaches the blog that butcher Graeme Proctor is set to become the new Fred Elliot. And that's not a Good Thing, because it sends him on the slippery slope of becoming Coronation Street's next old codger. Remember Uncle Albert Tatlock and Percy Sugden? Norris Cole currently wears the old codger crown but it could be going to Graeme sooner than he and his fans might like.

I dunno. It's good that Ashley has a foil in the butcher shop and it's a good thing that he's popular enough for them to keep him on! Fred had another quality... perennial loser in love and i can see Graeme like that too. And Ashley gets to have a "partner"/double act
Hey, I loved all the old codgers & I love Norris sticking his oar in where it's not wanted. So what's wrong with being an old codger?
Nothing wrong, I just think it's time we had another one!!
