Waterloo Road actress joins Coronation Street

Dan the Brewery Man brings his daughter Lucy to meet Liz next week on Coronation Street.  And as you can see from the picture above, Liz doesn't exactly give Lucy the warmest of welcomes.

Lucy will be played by actress Sammy Oliver. She played Tiffany in Waterloo Road.

The reason for Liz's anger is that she suspects something is awry at Deirdre's funeral (says TV Times) when she sees how hostile Leanne is being towards Dan.  Liz confronts Dan but he brushes away her concerns.   Liz then goes to see Leanne who tells her the truth about Dan. Not only does Leanne know Dan from her past days as an, er, working girl, but Dan beats up prostitutes too. He's a right nasty piece.

When Liz finds Dan in the Rovers with his daughter Lucy she gives him what for.  Bev Callard says that Liz doesn't care that his daughter is there, she wants everyone to know what sort of bloke he is. She tells him she never wants to see him again.

Could this be the end of Dan, Dan, the Brewery Man?  It just might be as Bev Callard has already confirmed that Liz will get back together with this man...

Waterloo Road's Philip Martin Brown joins Coronation Street

Former Waterloo Road actor Philip Martin Brown has landed a guest role on Coronation Street.

Brown has previously appeared on Coronation Street from March to April 2005 as DI Pinnock who investigated the murder of Tommy Harris.


Digital Spy reports that the actor will appear in a handful of Corrie episodes next year as part of Steve McDonald's depression storyline. Brown will feature as a therapist who treats Steve.

Coronation Street's producer Stuart Blackburn recently said: "This is a story about Steve battling his secret, hidden depression. He is a man in chaos, scared and confused, and stuff like this doesn't happen to people like him. He is absolutely terrified of admitting it. This will come to a head in January where a tragedy will strike that will force him to face up to those demons."

Corrie Sally's daughter joins Waterloo Road

The daughter of Sally Whittaker, who plays Coronation Street's Sally Webster, is joining BBC1 school drama Waterloo Road.

Phoebe Dynevor is following in her mum's acting footsteps, says The Sun, and Sally is "absolutely delighted".

14-year-old Phoebe is a member of the Altrincham Garrick Youth Theatre, playing a variety of roles in productions for the public, including Lady Macbeth. She's also had several walk-on roles in Coronation Street.

Phoebe will play the part of Siobhan Green in Waterloo Road.
