This episode commenced with the McDonalds at breakfast at Number One with Amy seeking to "spend time with her family" over lunch at the Bistro - providing that Steve paid. What was amazing was that Debbie was offering a three course lunch for £12 including a drink; someone please give Debbie a proper story and a proper price list please. When the McDonalds do gather at the Bistro, Amy arrives with *drum roll* Jacob on her arm. Steve convinces Tracy to stay with the old reverse psychology trick.
Leanne's arrival destroys the friendly atmosphere as she continues to believe that Jacob is the devil incarnate. Amy and Jacob share a very public and extende display of affection before Jacob leaves, feeling that the antagonism has simply become too much.
Outside, he comes across former friend and assistant drug mule Simon. Jacob may have cleaned up his act but Simon's cutting tongue (allegedly and off screen he may have referred to Amy as "a slag") leads to Jacob delivering a sharp punch and Simon acquiring a bloody nose.
Adam spends most of the episode apparently smelling like a brewery (without "Smell-o-vision" I have to take the word of those sharing scenes with Adam) having spent the night on Daniel's sofa, arriving at 4am and wanting Daniel to go clubbing with him! Bertie's sleep was much disturbed. Adam tries to convince Sarah of the illogicality of believing Lydia over him - but all Sarah can think about is being given a new oven for her present. Lydia pops into the factory to interrupt some nonsense from Kirk over the carboard boxes disintegrating in the rain and to allow her to collect a few personal belongings. Lydia tries to apologise to Sarah but it does not go well. As she leaves, Adam sees her in t'Street and rails at her over the court summons to pay for the costs of repairing her furniture. Adam tells Lydia she "will get her (just desserts) for lying". Lydia promises Adam that he will never see her again and she leaves. Sarah observes this exchange and notes that Lydia appears defeated. At Daniel's suggestion Adam wants Sarah to go and talk to Lydia - at the same time Carla is also telling Sarah that Lydia's story about Adam being a threatening presence is hard to believe. Sarah agrees and goes to find Lydia. On her return she is confronted by Adam - but it seems Lydia and son have disappeared, seen leaving with suitcases.
Toyah and Imran remain concerned for their new foster child - Abi, not Elsie. Kev is not completely over Abi even now and takes it well when Imran approaches him over the legal requirement to provide maternity pay - which Kev immediately agrees to sort. Ty however is less positive and voices his opinion, so later Imran advises Abi that she will probably need to find a new employer post maternity leave.
Maria is still pursuing her council election (the vote is next week) - but gets completely overshadowed when the competition, Bernard Barnes (played by Derren Litten) turns up with some Wethy County players! He is backing the new roads and County training ground - and the press present lap it up (above).

R'Toyota is also being a helpful angel as she has found a flat at the magic new "Weatherfield Precinct" and has paid a deposit and initial rent (only a loan - Abi to repay it when she can afford it) so that Abi and Alfie have somewhere to live. Toyah assures her that every family needs a home.

Strangest scene of all was Aggie telling Toyah that she had not see Abi at the hospital as she was busy with broken bones; where do they repair broken bones on a maternity ward? Obviously the writer has never been inside a hospital!

Gary is being the dutiful house husband as Maria seeks to doorstep all of the local voters.
Michael Bailey remains out of sorts as his (admittedly underpowered) brain tries to process Grace's behaviour towards the family, and Glory in particular. Aggie decides that the solution is to hold a small family party for Glory's first birthday. The party goes well and the Bailey family all seem happy for a change.
