The team at Corriedale have today posted a special one off feature on YouTube that is sure to get soap viewers excited ahead of the unique Corriedale crossover episode, which is due to air on ITV on 5th January.
Countdown to Corriedale is a warm, nostalgic, and laughter-filled look back at the biggest moments from Coronation Street and Emmerdale, as stars from both soaps sit down together to relive the drama, the romance, and the jaw-dropping twists that have defined their shows - all building up to the unmissable Corriedale crossover event.
Countdown to Corriedale brings together two of Britain’s most beloved TV families for a one-off celebration of soap history. In this 30-minute special, four pairs of cast members - one from Coronation Street, one from Emmerdale - settle into some of the most iconic sets from both series to watch and react to legendary moments from the archives.
Through their banter, behind-the-scenes memories, and shared reactions, viewers will be reminded why these soaps have captured hearts for generations - and newcomers will get a crash course in everything they’ve been missing.
The show’s tone is affectionate, witty, and packed with nostalgia, giving fans a rare chance to see the stars in a relaxed, unscripted environment. Each pairing’s journey through the highlights leads us closer to the final moments - where the countdown begins for the epic Corriedale episode itself.
The hour long Corriedale episode will air at 8pm on January 5th - it will not be dropped earlier in the day on ITVX. Half hour episodes of each soap will be shown earlier, Emmerdale 7pm and Coronation Street 7.30pm, these two episodes will drop on ITVX at 7am that morning.
The special episode is a celebration of the soap genre and will launch ITV’s new ‘soap power hour’ scheduling pattern for Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
