Pics: Corrie fans in Whitehaven meet Pat and Eileen Phelan
Earlier this week we reported that Coronation Street were filming on location in Whitehaven.
You can read more on that here.
And now we know for sure what it is they're recording there - it's Pat Phelan and Eileen's storyline. Could it signal the end of Phelan? Let's hope so!
Anyway, while they're filming there, the actors who play Pat and Eileen (Connor McIntyre and Sue Cleaver) have been meeting fans and having their photographs taken with fans too. It's really lovely and there are some great pictures. Crowds have been gathereing to watch filming take place.
Will Tillotson, who allowed the crew to film on his boat on Tuesday, said "everyone was very friendly".
"It's a long time since I've been on a film or TV set. I did extra work 30 years ago but it was just a bit of fun and some easy money," he said. It reminds you how much standing around there is and the amount of time it takes to film a short period of TV. Everyone there is needed and it's a very positive atmosphere."
The episodes are expected to air at the end of March.
An ITV spokesman said: "Whitehaven proved to be perfect for what the director required and everyone was hugely helpful in making the planning and organisation of filming run smoothly."
Have a look at some of the pictures here.

If the scenes which are being recorded in Whitehaven are indeed of Phelan's demise then I hope Eileen has finally realised exactly what sort of a man she has married and ALL his crimes are eventually brought to light including the framing of Anna and possibly the death of Eileen's former partner Michael Rodwell. She ought to know that Phelan simply stood by and let him die of a fatal hear attack. I just hope there is not some kind of twist whereby Phelan falls to his death accidently in some way and Eileen never fully accepts that her darling Pat was responsible for any crimes.
It would also not surprise me if Phelan does not die at all when he falls and subsequently returns to Coronation Street, possibly to seek revenge on Eileen for pushing him. We do not definitely know that he dies in the scenes being filmed, although it is quite likely. Ideally, all his crimes should be discovered and he should be put on trial for them, possibly receiving a life sentence of around thirty years as a minimum term for the murders of Andy, Vinny and Luke plus several extra years for framing Anna and lying in court about her. To my mind it would be perfect justice if Phelan was put on trial for his crimes but thought he would escape a guilty verdict due to lack of evidence, only for some new evidence to be produced at the last minute which proved his guilt and ensured that he was put behind bars for the rest of his natural life. This would be perfect payback for the way in which Anna was condemned for by the ambiguous video evidence at the last minute.
Simply falling off a cliff to a quick death is no real punishment for his horrific crimes and the misery he has caused to various people including Anna,Gary, Faye and Steph and also Anna's former partner Owen Armstrong. He should be made to suffer as he had made others suffer. There has also been some suggestion that after Phelan's death there may be whispers that possibly she knew about his crimes all along and may have been in league with him, leading to questions from the police. Frankly, this would serve her right for being so gullible and for ignoring Anna's warnings about him, but I hope it does not lead onto another long drawn out saga in which it is a long tine before Phelan's guilt is finally established and possibly the whole truth concerning his crimes is never known.
I meant to say that possibly Eileen knew about his crimes all along and may have been in league with him.
I think it's great that they're having fun with the fans when they Can!
If Eileen is in trouble, there’s no way Todd would stay away if he’s still in Europe. Before Pat’s downfall for the murders, I also hope somebody solves the missing money mystery. Maybe some freelance journalism, Daniel? Clever investigation by Todd with a new face? It was a lot of money for a lot of people.
Abbyk, well said. I strongly feel that the character of Todd should be recast, he was too important of a character to just disappear and Billy really needs him to help raise Summer.
Never mind recasting Todd, just bring back Bruno Langley. He was sacked unnecessarily. He's paid for his actions, he didn't need to lose his job too.
Other people have done far worse.
I agree with D.C.
