Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Billy Mayhew in Coronation Street, was interviewed on ITV's This Morning show earlier this week.
Daniel talked about the upcoming storyline where Billy is bundled into the boot of a car with Peter Barlow. It's a nice, festive storyline, no? Ah well, it wouldn't be Christmas unless there was drama. And the drama comes next week when Peter finds out that Billy was in the car responsible for his twin sister Susan's death.
Daniel revealed all to Eamonn and Ruth on This Morning and laughing, said that yes, the vicar used to be an armed robber! He said that the car crash he was involved in was part of his life that caused Billy to join the church in the first place, which is interesting to hear.
Daniel is now in his fourth year of being in Corrie, he said, and this year is the first time he's found out why he joined the church and what his background story really is. He comes across as a really nice guy in the interview. It's on the ITV Hub if you'd like to watch it (and can tolerate the ads, which aren't fast-forwardable).

When will Corrie finally learn to STOP retconning established history. Every time they do so, they are treating viewers like idiots. Some of us still remember the absolute disaster they made of Betty's death and her somehow owning the Rover's.
Let's face it, they've ruined his character. What once was a nice guy who was the voice of reason and conscience and the only real beacon of goodness on the street,(besides our Roy,of course)has been turned into a whiny deceitful, guilt ridden schmuck. What a shame.
This is becoming a regular thing. ITV rolls out their genuinely lovely actors so viewers are charmed into dismissing doubts about their characters. Are we really that gullible? None of the characters who have done personality somersaults or gone beyond the bounds of probability become more acceptable because the actor's a sweetie.
Next - it's revealed Ken was driving the train that almost crushed Ena back in 1967. Her grandson returns to have his revenge.
At this point I couldn't care less about Billy. I'm so bored with the whole thing.
Anon 23:31.....please, don't give them ideas, they're just as likely to use it!
Zagg, I agree with you 100%! I absolutely hate what they have done to Billy!
I used to really like him, now I find him incredibly annoying and self-absorbed. He seems to spend an inordinate amount of time in the Rovers. Does he not have any church duties to attend to? I have a nasty feeling that with the loss of Todd, Billy will end up losing custody of Summer to that nasty Grandmother!
