It's Gail's hair.
In the second episode on Monday night there were a couple of scenes when Gail was in the Rovers talking to Kylie and David. She's got shortish hair at this point, as you can see on the photo on the left.
A few minutes later, Nick walks into the Rovers with Carla in tow. And Gail's hair has grown, as you can see on the photo on the right.
I'll get me anorak.

I believe most of the women wear wigs on that show for ease of continuity. I think it is the same wig but combed slightly differently in some of the scenes.

She was waiting for them for quite a long while, what can I say... ;)
Come to think of it, I can recall another one, a couple of weeks back when Carla was in the Underworld office, took the coffee carafe from the coffeemaker hob, poured into her cup and placed the carafe beside the coffeemaker (odd, I thought) and in the next instant after cutting away for a moment, the carafe was back on the hob.
I know that scenes from the same episode can be shot over a three week period,but I would assume that those scenes would have all been recorded in the same session.

Another thing is when someone's supposedly had their hair done but looks no different from earlier in the day.
I think Gail's bangs are far too long, she is always blinking. She needs to have it cut shorter too much hair for such a tiny little woman.

I noticed Eileen all of a sudden has a nice holiday tan. Where did that come from?

She'd obviously been to Audrey's in between shows - it's the only salon where clients come out looking exactly the same as when they went in, so if you stay there long enough your hair will grow!
She's like a turtle and can extend her neck.
I didn't notice the difference in Gail's hair. She probably really did get her hair cut in the process of filming certain scenes. The editors must have pieced the scenes together or they were filmed out of sequence. I'm a huge Law and Order :SVU fan. Years ago there was an episode in Season 8 where Olivia Benson;s hair style changed back and forth several times between key scenes.It was obvious that filming had taken several weeks and her hair had been restyled between takes.
