I don't know the story behind this week's photo but it appeared in a recent edition on New Statesman dedicated to "The North".

Is that the back room at the Rovers? Circa? Yes, fantastic photo, and good article in the New Statesman -- thanks.
In Daran Little's book 'Life and Times at the Rovers Return' there's a picture captioned: "December 1991, Classic Coronation Street, a programme which celebrated the series brought together many of the barmaids.." and there's Julie wearing this exact outfit and jewellery with her hair just the same so I'm guessing this picture was taken as part of the publicity for that show.
