Actor Terence Maynard, who played Helios in the BBC’s hit fantasy drama Merlin, has been cast as Jason Grimshaw’s wayward dad Tony Stewart. Read Terence Maynard's IMDB profile here.
The Star reveals that he will also be the new fella for Liz McDonald.
The paper says: "Fans will see Tony make an unexpected arrival while Jason is having a cosy night in with his girlfriend Eva.

For Christ's sake. Is that all the writer's in this show can think of? The woman needs a man. Without one they are not complete.

The actor is only aged 44, so about 10 years too young to be Jason's dad. Maybe he'll look older on screen.
How do you know the woman doesn't want a man....after all, it is Liz we're talking about!!
