Corrie Blog Weekly Awards for March 12 - 16

Piranha award : Gemma has the dubious honour. (note: refers to a misquote from Les Battersby circa late 90s)

Cher award: Tyrone wishes he could turn back time.

Blast from the Past award: Rosemary the clairvoyant sure dragged up a lot of great old names from Corrie History including Ivy Tilsley.

Podium award: Gail and Audrey and the gold and silver medal of the world championship of bad judges of character.

Copycat Stylista: Does anyone else think Adam's new 'do looks like Aidan's, just a little bit longer?

Lines of the Week
Rita "I saw Gemma sneaking out of here before the birds could clear their throats"
Rita "There's only so many insults my intelligence can take in one day"
Peter to Billy "It's never too late when people love you and are ready to forgive"
Billy "You don't run away from the Last Chance Saloon"
Sarah "When it comes to baggage, my brother could fill a carrousel" (couldn't he just!)
Alya "He was so perfect. We were so perfect" (I feel for you, luv, but question why Luke never mentioned you to his parents if it was so perfect)
Audrey "Does Ivy have a message? Mind you I'd be surprised if she hadn't"
Phelan to Billy. You're going to beat this and you know why? If you fail again. If you let us down again it'll be the last thing you do. Understand? I will come for you"
Audrey "I've got Netflix. I am *never* on my own"
Josh to David "I reckon you and me are gonna have more big adventures"
Gail to Audrey "You're a terrible judge of character. You're almost as bad as me! We're like the gold and silver medal of the world championship!"
Eva "Oh my God. Did you actually just fat shame me to my actual face??!"

Corrie Weekly Awards for Feb. 26 - March 2

Ironic Man award: Tim. Sally wanted to move house to get away from Phelan and Tim then ends up saving Phelan's life. And Tim was the one that then outed Phelan's admission to the old Calcutta Street flat scam. He really is a super hero, Tim!

Cheeky Monkey award: Hope shouting at Daniel and Sinead to get a room!!

Peaked Blinders award: Eileen has been blinded to Phelan's true nature by her need to have her man.

Pants on Fire award: Phelan told Mona that his wife was ill then told his wife that he quit because too much work ruined his last marraige. Then he promises Eileen no more lies!

Fashionista Award: Mary was wearing a really pretty dress. Loved the colours.

Lines of the week:
Kate "I actually felt horrible for not feeling more horrible"
Rosie to Sophie "I'm the stupid one, remember?"
Tim to Phelan "I might not be a genius, and I might have saved your life last night, but I'll not let you get away with this"
Tim to Eileen "If he's lied about them flats, what else has he lied about eh?"
Phelan "I'm a fool for love and I regret it" (shocked at the lengths he goes!)
Tim "He's just around the corner.... well it's a very large corner"
Eileen "I just don't think he's that bad a man" (if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck...)
David "Talking's overrated"
Eva "Thank your lucky stars I don't phone the police" Lee "Lucky stars? What's one of them?" (true, he's probably not seen very many in his life)
Eva "Scum of the earth is a flippin' insult to scum of the earth"
Audrey "Oh David. It's the other side of the world, not the end of it" David "You been practicing that?"
Construction guy about the draining water "You name it,we find it"
Tim "Comes to something, dunnit, when your family decides they'd rather spend time with Pat Phelan"

Corrie Weekly Awards for Feb. 26 - March 2

Boxes Ticked award: Billy's an instant heroin addict. He looks unkempt with black circles under his eyes, he's rude and he throws up in the sink for good measure. The writers seem to have covered all the bases and ticked all the boxes on the "I'm an addict" list, haven't they?

BirdWoman of Alcatraz award: Yasmeen is still keeping the chickens.

Fashion Award: Rosie's Pink mini dress and fluffy coat and laptop cover. But apparently, the town of Warrington didn't appreciate it.

Lines of the week:
Gemma "What do I know about hygiene? This Bra's been on since Friday"
Nicola "For an incredibly smart woman, you're pretty stupid"
Rosie "This outfit was wasted on Warrington"
Yasmeen "Those chickens were hungry, they went mad when they saw the food. If they weren't caged it would be like a scene from The Birds"
Audrey "Anything must be better than showing what you had for breafast in some seedy lapdancing club"
Liz about Moira "That woman takes bitterness to a whole new level"
Leanne "Nothing I like better than a bit of paint porn" (DIY queen in the making?)
Geraldine "I haven't come to cause trouble" Eileen "Yet it still seems to follow you around"

Corrie Weekly Awards for Feb. 19 - 23

Throwback award: Demon David is back!

Open Mouth Change Feet award: Michelle telling her abandoned son that family means everything to her.

Guilt Trip award: Roy for succumbing to his mother's demands. Billy for contacting his brother again because Summer's schoolwork is suffering for her looking after him.

Explanation Street: There you have it. Carla did still own the majority share of the factory.

Mouths of Babes award: Max told David he smelled like Audrey at Christmas (i.e. all the alcohol)

Underestimation award: Jenny isn't jealous of "It's Only Liz" but I think Liz is worthy competition in anyone's book.

Ace in the Hole award: Kevin looked scared when Gemma challenged him to darts. No wonder. All that time she has spent in pubs over the years has paid off!

Lines of the week:
Jenny "I've booked flights! I've even bought a trikini!"
Phelan to Eileen "There are only two types of people in this world. Those people that stand by you while others walk away and those people that break your heart. They've gotta be cut loose. Permanently." (oh very passive aggressive, isn't he?)
Billy "Suddenly, the homophobic old granny doesnt seem like such a terrible option"
Liz "Are you calling me a gossip?" Steve "The High Priestess of tittle tattle!" Liz "and you don't exactly block your ears yourself, do you?" Steve "Well, I'm a people person"
Johnny to Carla "You do realize you're a magnet for oddballs"
Steve about Tracy "She's the Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Complete Nutjobs. She scares me half to death sometimes but it works. ish."
Tracy "I am carrying flowers for a woman I would have gladly buried a few years back. Trust me, I'm showing the love"
Tracy "Roy, you really have to work on your happy face!"
Max "You smell" David "What do I smell like?" Max "Like Audrey at Christmas" (HA! good one!)
Jenny to Liz "Do they do wellies with high heels?" (if they do, Liz will have a pair)
Josh "If you're thinking of doing anything stupid, I'd be happy to lend you a hand"
Michelle to Aidan "Ehhh, all right, R'Kid(ney)!"
Liz "Eileen might have a long reach but trust me, I've picked up a few moves over the years" (I'd bet on Liz)

Corrie weekly awards for Feb. 12 - 16

Perfect Reaction award: Daniel didn't hear another word Sinead said once she'd taken her coat off.

Scavenger award: Jude nipped Craig's roses out of the bin before they even had a chance to drop a petal!

Crime Pays award: Michelle and Robert are on their financial feet once again.

Heartless award: Why on earth did Michelle and Kate laugh at Robert? (see lines of the week below)
Worst Date Ever award: Sean and Tyrone. (and Sean with the worst haircut award, what's with the Peaky Blinders look?)

Lines of the week:
David to David the dog "Don't worry pal, you might not be the tallest, don't mean you're not the hardest!"
Robert "You never know what's round the corner. Makes you want to live every day like it's your last" (so why did Michelle and Kate laugh at him?)
Bethany "Have some self respect, Mum, you're like David the dog when he sees a bone"
Sean to Tyrone "You're not the first straight man I've tempted over to the other side and you won't be the last"
Michelle after the fun run "That was more painful than getting me bits waxed"
Gail "Compromise is the key to a good relationship. You need to meet in the middle"
Mona about the pool/canal "I very much doubt there's anything alive in there" (You'd be right)
Daniel "As pretty as that is, I reckon it looks better on the floor"
Carla "Welcome to the family" Robert "Now try saying that without sounding like a Mafia boss"

Corrie Weekly Awards for Feb. 5 - 9

Continuity mystery award: Since when has Gary been able to afford such a nice car? Or any car?

Deflection Award: Phelan had Steph convinced that he thought Andy was with her, thus pushing away suspicion from him as responsible for Andy's disappearance.

Common Ground award: I bet Tracy never thought she'd have anything of any importance with Carla but finding out about Carla's kidney failure sure touched a nerve with Tracy.

Fast thinking award: Faye for pretending she same to see Nicola about bullies and Nicola for pretending to have a miscarriage scare.

Observation Fail award: Adam. Presumably he and Eva are being intimate. How has he not noticed her increasing breast size and bump? 17+ weeks pregnant and she'd definitely have been showing physical signs of it even if she's been avoiding intimacy since she found out. That's down to more than just a few extra pies, mate.

Contrivance Street: Phelan manipulated Nicola into moving in with him and Eileen. Here's an idea. Why doesn't Gary move in with Nicola? That's too easy.

Surreal award: Your current squeeze and your ex-squeeze both sitting by your hospital bed. Awkward! (but I loved that scene!)

Lines of the week:
Yasmeen "You think this grubby little deal he struck up with your parents is going to make it right?" (isn't Shelly King awesome when given something to get her teeth into!)
Yasmeen "Denying your true feelings to safe face in the community is not the answer" (from accusing to defending, wow!)
Carla "If everyone had their way, I'd have more kidneys than fingers"
Daniel "What kind of books does Carla read for pleasure?" Roy "Books? you don't know Carla very well do you?"
Johnny to Carla after seeing Peter and Daniel in Carla's hospital room "Did I miss something?"

Corrie Weekly Awards for Jan. 29 - Feb. 2

Superhero Award: Steph was right in there, standing up to Phelan on her late brother's behalf.

Job History query: I question a CV where the applicant (Josh) has had a load of jobs in a large number of locations. Why could he not keep any job for any length of time?

Defender of the Faith: Roy really laid it out on the line to Carla re: telling her family she needs a transplant.

Wizard of Oz award: Yes, Yes I think a house just might drop on Tracy some day.

Confession is good for the Soul award: Kate told Zeedan that she's the one Rana is in love with. He didn't thank her for it!

Gossip boy award: Don't mention it to anyone. You're telling Brian? He's the next busiest gossip after Norris!

Deer in the Headlights award: Amy when challenged to go upstairs with a boy. She's a good girl, really, and apparently not her mother's daughter at heart because she didn't let herself be persuaded.

Lines of the Week:
Gary " I think your hormones might be messing with your head. Building sites are dangerous enough with out a homicidal maniac in charge"
Rana "You were right to end things. It's easy all around" Kate "Not so easy that I just move on to the next gay in the village"
Tim "A bloke's dead, Sally, you don't get more dramatic than that"
Eileen "You reckon she'll (Tracy) outlive you? She probably will unless a house drops on her" (HA!)
Audrey "He were such a wonderful young man. Made me feel like I were 50 again!"
Carla "Will you marry me?" Roy "I can't think of anything more disturbing"
Carla "What should I rely on, Roy?" Roy "For now. Luck" (reality check)
Sean "Without this face, I am nothing!"
Dev "Nice shirt" Imran "Thanks" Dev "Where'd you get it?" Imran "If I tell you, are you going to get one?" Dev.....erm.... Imran ....walks out of the shop. (well, it made me chuckle)
