Yay or Nay: Should Darryl stay in Corrie?

Bad news for fans of Darryl Morton is that the actor who plays him has just filmed his final scenes. In a video inteview here actor Johnny Dixon confirms that Darryl will disappear from Coronation Street next month as his character has been written out.

And although a Corrie spokesperson says: "The door has been left open for Johnny and Darryl to return in the future," I'm really sad as I think Darryl is a brilliant character. If he has to go, I want him back asap please. What do other fans think?

Darryl and Vicki to leave Coronation Street

Darryl Morton and Vicki Dankowska are leaving Coronation Street, confirms Digital Spy today.

And the wonderful Amber will only appear on an episodic basis.

A Corrie spokeswoman told DS: "Some characters will be leaving Coronation Street later this year as part of natural story progression. Characters have always come and gone in Weatherfield, some stay for years, others pass through. This is not about cost cutting it is about storytelling."

This fan thinks it's a real shame we'll not see much more of Vicki - her past history and secret life in Poland was just about to get interesting too. And as for Amber not being on the show full time, it's a crying disgrace. She's fab!
