Corrie Clarissa's New Tricks

Alexandra Boyd, who played Coronation Street fashion queen Clarissa Mason, landed a right good part when she left the Street. Not only has she been filming a movie with a certain Mr Travolta and she's now going to appear in an episode of New Tricks alongside Denis Waterman.

Corrie's Clarissa in new John Travolta movie

As Coronation Street's Clarissa Mason, actress Alexandra Boyd played the feisty redhead and wife-done-wrong to perfection. And since leaving the Street, Alexandra has been shooting a movie with John Travolta called From Paris With Love. It's an action movie produced by Luc Besson and Alexandra plays a VIP American Chief of Delegation who has her life saved by Mr Travolta himself. The picture above is a still from the new movie, with Alexandra in the middle, and the movie will be in cinemas early 2009.

Coronation Street's new fashion queen

Move over, Maria Sutherland. Cool it, Carla Connor. There's a new fashion queen on Coronation Street and her name is Clarissa Mason.

Judging by the amount of emails I receive from Corrie fans asking where they can buy women's clothes seen on Corrie, the latest batch of queries all concern Clarissa's clobber. And if you like the cut of the cloth as worn by Clarissa, played by Alexandra Boyd, I suggest trying high street stores such as House of Fraser and Phase Eight for the wonderful wrap dresses she wears.

Now then, if anyone spots anything worn on the show in their favourite stores while out shopping, do let me know and I'll blog the fashion facts. Oddly, no one asks where to get Janice Battersby's look...

Behind the scenes at the next Corrie Cat Fight

Liz McDonald had better watch out, she's got competition for the attention of bookie Larry Grayson - whoops, sorry - Harry Mason.

Harry's soon to be ex-wife Clarissa Mason, played by Alexandra Boyd, spoke to ITV's Loose Women about fighting Liz McDonald on screen in Coronation Street and you can watch her interview right here.
