Good evening. Nick apparently always leaves his shoes where people trip over them. He and Sam are on the hunt for a new flat and despite acknowledging her feelings Toyah declines to join him in his new abode as it is more important that she rebuilds her relations with Leanne. Later we hear Nick has possibly found a flat for him and Sam to move to, somewhere in the area (I wonder where).
Fiz is delighted when Mrs Crawshaw says that she will come round to convey the school's determination of Hope's position. Hope does not want to be there. Ruby reckons that is like being hoist with your own petard and Evelyn boasts that Ruby is turning into a mini-me (and may she succeed!). Hope has to turn her pockets out - but the vape is hidden in a cupboard. When Mrs Crawshaw arrives she wants to know why Hope is vaping - but to be honest Hope does not have a reason. Everyone says she is extremely sorry and that Hope has stopped vaping, so she can return tomorrow - Hope is Queen Victoria like - she is not amused. They all warn here she is in the last chance saloon. Evelyn is going to take her to the shop for the day and Hope fails to extract her vape from the cupboard from which we see ominous fumes emerging.
Mason is still with us and the Street is visited by his brother Logan in a bright yellow souped up something or other giving Mason the evils as he did not participate in the house break-in. Later Yasmeen hears a smash and with Stu they arrive home to find a brick through the window - no doubt a subtle message from lovable Logan. No-one saw nothing as usual. Stu later has to admit to Yasmeen that he probably knows who was responsible for the window and then admits to Mason having a crowbar. Stu and Yasmeen argue. When confronted Mason offers to move out and Yasmeen makes it clear there is a deadline.
David heads into see Bethany - he is still concerned that he did not stop her having the "tweekment" - but she explains that nothing would have stopped her - she decided and no-one else could have changed that. Daniel is next up to visit and Bethany is sounding depressed over the stoma again today. She is indeed concerned that she has changed irretrievably since they first got together and that she needs to think things through and at least for now asks Daniel to depart - and it looks like it is over for them based on her face.
Jesse is being perfectly nice, going around the Platt family from the photographs shown him Gail and introducing himself. Then the same with Adam as he discusses the cash in the lock up in ALansia Road. Then into the café and talks to Shona who insists that he sit down with David and Sarah who are there at the time. Shona tells David to be nice. David and Sarah say that holiday romances often do not continue and Jesse admits he has seen Gail in the last three years - which Shona doubts given that Gail is famous as the "Olympic Flame" for never going out. The Platts are shocked when Jesse reveals that there have been no life drawing classes and that Gail was lying. Jesse claims to be a changed man and leaves assuring them that Gail is important to him. Later in the Rovers he and Steve talk - the latter observes he is a cross between the Hindenberg and the Titanic over relationships - but he has never been down the sister route. Jesse admits that with Gail it is different - he is in love but he cannot speak for Gail. Steve tells him then that it is time he talked to Gail herself, who later brings Jesse back for his tea and tells David to set a place at the table. Gail tells the family that Jesse makes her happy and that is a feeling she had almost forgotten and they all need to get on board. Shona is. David and Sarah are not.
I am pleased to report that DS Swain's right arm appears to be functioning normally as she and Kit discuss Mrs Deering who is on the warpath to know what happened to Joel (I am not sure we can call him beloved). {Can anyone explain why there is a list of telephone extensions on the whiteboard behind DS Swain - surely it should have pictures and wires and links between clues?}. Later DS Swain tries to give him advice - but it is not well received because Kit is not yet prepared to concede that Joel is dead whilst she is nailed on certain that he is (and why would that be?).
Ruby returns home early to find a right little conflagration in process (what are the chances of a vape catching fire please?). She is completely immobilised by the sight, just watching it catch hold. Evelyn luckily walks in and takes action before hustling Ruby out of the house. Fiz, Ruby and Evelyn recover at the cafe. Only superficial damage reported. Ruby observes that Hope will be gutted when she finds out as she loves a good fire. A little later Tyrone arrives with the news that the fire was caused by a vape. Ruby "Hope starts another fire. Who knew(?), even if she is supposed to no longer be a pyromaniac." Later Tyrone tells Hope that it was her vape, her lies, her choice. He also says it will happen again if she does not accept responsibility. If she does not change her ways she will continue to encounter disaster.
Adam pops into the factory as he has to tell Sarah about the money Damon offered, the messages and the visit to prison. Sarah just gets more and more angry as Adam explains events - and realises that Damon will be unhappy that she has not attempted to thank him. Later a recumbent Sarah phones Damon (knowing his prison mobile phone number of course) to thank him and he hopes there was enough money, Sarah knows she has not had the money. Both of them are startled - Sarah tells Damon she has not touched the cash - and yet Baz checked the lockup for Damon and the money has gone. So who took the money? Presumably Baz is clean. Adam will be suspect. Daniel knows some of the details. I wonder who else? {I reckon Harvey is not as green as he is cabbage looking}.
Over the last couple of weeks Corrie has felt a little different and I wonder if some production changes have been made. We had lots of little bits from various stories rather than a story completely dropping out of the programme for some weeks without being mentioned it felt like all were referenced along the way. It also feels a little less manic. This is so much better than before and I have to hope it continues.

Who is Baz?
The Gail story is racing ahead at a ridiculous speed but we know the reason for that. Question: why would someone sell their house in which several family members live with them? Unless, in a retcon, Gail was always going to sell up and Bethany provides the perfect excuse because Gail doesn't need to give it all to her. Medical costs around £20,000 - value of house around £200,000. Roll on end of story.
Fizz is far too soft on Hope (probably even scared of her). Not backing up Tyrone was not a good idea as Hope knows she can play them off against each other.
