Coronation Street Episode Review Monday 26th February

Apologies for the lack of Monday night (Tuesday morning) reviews the last couple of weeks, I've been on me holidays.

STEVE - TRACY - AMY - CORONATION STREET - ITV

A special treat tonight as it's a whole hour of Jonathan Harvey and his double entendres as Steve finds out about Tracy's infidelity from Tim and D.S. Sal. Tommy O has been dribbling in Tracy's penalty area before sticking one in the back of the net and now she's been unveiled. This is the filth we know and love at 7.30 of a Monday evening. Tracy has agreed to Steve's suggestion of a vow renewal (you'd think he'd have had enough of weddings by now) but when Steve rushes round to tell his bestie, Tim tells all and Tracy, instead of begging Steve's forgiveness, says she is bored of him - and also Ken's furniture, for some reason. I guess she's over her nineties crush. Steve should think himself lucky that it's only the demise of the relationship and not him.

DEE-DEE - EMILY - CORONATION STREET - ITV

In other (sort of) infidelity news, Emily, the ex-Mrs Joel, turns up to defend her former hubbie, which seems a little shady to me. Also, at one point, Deedee says she's fed up of pandering to the patriarchy so Alya sends her home. Ok, firstly that's not in Alya's job description, secondly, I hate it when women, or at least female characters, become feminists when they've been done wrong by men, only to drop it when they're loved up. Talking of too good to be true Joel, the receipt for his cufflinks/charm bracelet was from Dec '23 - didn't Lauren get some bling from her "ex" at that point? I'm now trying to remember if there's been a scene in the caff with Joel and Lauren? If he's her older man, then surely his hanging around the Street all the time would be playing with fire?

ADAM - CORONATION STREET - ITV

Meanwhile, Adam is doing some MacGuffin stuff with John the chemo patient that involves stealing a CCTV tape. Probably best not to ask, tbh. Also, isn't it time the solicitors sprung for another table, then Adam wouldn't have to go stalk the streets each time he needs to call Harvey's illegal phone.

BOBBY - CRAIG - CORONATION STREET - ITV

Talking of Lauren, Bobby goes to the cop shop to report Lauren as a missing person. He speaks to Craig so I think we can safely assume Lauren will never be found.

Finally, just as Tim was onto Tracy, Carla is onto Daisy and Jenny as she witnesses Daisy talking to a rep at Newton and Ridley about getting their ale back into the pub. Daisy uses this as an excuse to "come out" as the co-owner of the Rovers, much to Jenny's disgust.

Yes double-entendres galore but I still felt sorry for Steve and was surprised by Tracy's declaration. I do hope this isn't really the end of a great partnership, the 21st century Jack and Vera.
