Spoilers for next week's Coronation Street, Dec 7 - 11

Here are the major storylines for the week ahead on Coronation Street.

Monday 7 December to Friday 11 December

In this special 60th ANNIVERSARY WEEK three one hour episodes will bring stories to a gripping climax and launch new ones to take us into 2021 and beyond.

With Yasmeen on trial charged with Geoff’s attempted murder, this week will see the end of her trial.  Will justice be done or is the nightmare only just beginning for Yasmeen and Alya?

Meanwhile, Adam and Carla battle to keep the shameful secret that will ruin their lives and those around them. Nothing stays quiet for long in soaps though and as the week progresses the truth about what they have done threatens to destroy them.

At the centre of the anniversary week drama is of course Coronation Street itself as the residents unite to save the cobbles from the dastardly dealings of Ray Crosby. Having bought up most of the property and businesses in the area, Ray is ready to flatten the lot to make way for his new development. As the bulldozers arrive on the cobbles the race is on to save Britain’s most famous street and will Kevin find out the truth about Debbie’s part in it all?

I love the timescales involved here, when you buy property it takes months to exchange contracts, and even longer to completion. Yet all these householders seemed to have signed contracts immediately - Sally even said she'd been offered a discount on the Hale Barnes place if she signed today - searches take ages, it would be months before she was in a position to sign anything.
Plus the fact Ray would need to evict the residents, something else that takes time. So what, exactly, are the bulldozers turning up to demolish? It's beyond stupid.

But he's not bought most of the houses and businesses on the Street! What about the Kabin! What about the salon! What about Brian and Rita and Emma's flats!

This particular storyline is thrown together like a child's story of once upon a time. They must think covid-19 throws sense out the window. In actual fact I would assume all these processes would be slowed down, not sped up. lol

Does Jay jump behind the controls of the bulldozer in true melodramatic fashion?

Well, we all knew it would never happen anyway. It's only been a couple of years since they built the new set - and isn't the old one already demolished? Hardly a nail-biter. Too bad they didn't think of this story line back then - we could have actually watched something get bull-dozed.
