Corrie Comicals week ending 27 March 2020
In the real world there was not much at which to smile this week. Locked down in our house I don't think I left the building between Sunday and Saturday. So in that light let us look at the important matters concerning Weatherfield residents. And Dirk is still missing - is he self-isolating?
First up is Ken (above) who wisely opines that the there is no place for a cranberry in a sausage. I can honestly say we are with you there Ken. Although at the moment if it is either a cranberried sausage or no sausage then I will take the cranberry version.
Later on Norris is explaining to Ken the background to his move from Scotland to Weatherfield but cannot visit the Rovers because Freda is wary of Mary and he does not want people knowing he was living in a retirement home on account of his "youthful" reputation. Well he is younger than Ken - but how are they going to self-isolate in Still Waters?
David is not being pleasant to the world at the moment and with good reason so is complaining about breakfast - likening the egg to an old doormat. Nina (whom it seems is a better cook than Aggie) responds in kind - I would bet that Roy has never said anything like that to a diner! However already Nina's goth heritage is being toned down as she joins mainstream life on the Street. No doubt we will get the odd nod to it in the future. And David - at least you are able to go out to eat!
Just before Evelyn met Arthur we had another scene between Evelyn and Claudia but I went overboard on that last week and I hate repeating myself, I say I hate repeating myself! Evelyn is not sure about her look but of course once complimented by Arthur it was just something she threw on! Deftly delivered and of course some very experienced people. All lovely character interplay which I so enjoy - John Kerr's words this time but in exactly the same vein as last week's. Great television.
A little shorter than normal this week as the football international game put paid to Friday's episodes. I did not watch the football so cannot tell you the score. As it concerned Geoff I cannot put it on here (he is banned) but there was a very nice piece when Ryan smacked Geoff back in exchange for Geoff thumping him earlier. Keep it up Ryan - only harder!

Sorry I am completely baffled by the last paragraph, first of football wasn’t even on and what is this about Geoff and Ryan hitting each other. Am I missing some joke?
@anon the football wasn't on, but the schedule had already been rearranged to allow for it, thus no Corrie.
