Costume Supervisors – Coronation Street, 12 Mth FTC
Manchester
Coronation
Street is looking for Costume Supervisors.
As a
Costume Supervisor, you will report to, and assist, the Costume
Department Supervisor in maintaining costume continuity records using
iPads and be present on set whilst filming. You will prepare costumes
and costume changes for the filming, liaise with our Head of Costume and
Costume Department Supervisor to ensure costumes are correct for
filming and character continuity. We will look to you to advise and
coordinate the dressing of artistes to meet production requirements and
liaise with various departments and directors to maintain the look of
the show.
You will ensure all artistes are dressed and ready
prior to location/studio filming whilst managing Costume Assistants’
duties and tasks. Working with our Costume Department Supervisor you
must keep on top of changes to the schedule with rostering; you will
also attend production meetings, director meetings and liaise with
department heads to then provide the costume team with accurate
information on costume requirements according to production schedules.
As
a Costume Supervisor, you will join us with previous experience within
a costume department and of leading a team. You will have the ability
to read and break down scripts and respond to script amendments from
early stages to prepare the right look for each storyline following this
through into the actor’s look. It is important that you have great
interpersonal and communication skills as you will need to liaise with
many people across the production. You must have the ability to plan,
assist and coordinate work activities and resources to meet servicing
and dressing of artistes.
A professional qualification in Art,
Fashion or Costume Design is desirable but not essential as is a
creative and artistic flair. Timekeeping and excellent use of time
management is essential, as is the ability to sew and carry out minor
alterations and have strong computer skills.
Due to the very
nature of this role, confidentiality and absolute discretion is
essential when dealing with artistes. Demanding filming hours mean that a
flexible approach is essential.
“Our people are our greatest
asset and, as an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applicants
from diverse backgrounds to work both in front of and behind the
cameras”
