Lisa George swaps the cobbles for a Collie
Coronation Street actress Lisa George left the cobbles behind this week to indulge her passion in life for man's best friend.
Lifelong dog-lover Lisa, who plays Beth Sutherland, took a trip to Dogs Trust Manchester to meet some of the homeless hounds waiting for their forever homes at the Denton-based Rehoming Centre.
She said: "I have always had dogs in my life and absolutely adore them. I can't begin to imagine how sad it is for people when they have to give them up and it's tragic if a dog is simply abandoned. But it's fantastic to see the love and care they get at Dogs Trust Manchester. They are so relaxed and happy it's wonderful."
Lisa visited the Rehoming Centre with Corrie colleague Adam Blease who has worked as a background artist for almost ten years in the Street’s Underworld factory as ‘Dirk’, alongside knicker-stitcher Beth.

Lisa is such a lovely person. I met her this past year and it was a real treat.
I love this woman! I too adore dogs and anyone who helps them is admired by me. Good on you Lisa.
I admit, I've never taken to Beth but Lisa sounds lovely, and as a fellow dog lover and Dogs Trust supporter, I applaud her support of them (and there was a Dogs Trust poster in Roy's Rolls for years - excellent product placement from Corrie!)
