I've tried today, as best as I can, to create a family tree of the Connor clan which I present below.

Looking at this chart makes me wonder whether Carla (and maybe Rob) is the love child of either Barry or Johnny Connor. The Barry option is a step too far because that would mean Carla had relationships with two half brothers. It must be Johnny. Johnny and Carla's mother had some kind of relationship before/during his marriage(?) to Aiden and Kate's mother. That means Carla (and maybe Rob)has two half siblings. Co-incidence, probably, but Carla and Kate do look similar.We know Carla's mother has died. Do we know anything about her father?
The question is how did Rob find out or has he always known? Maybe he tries to blackmail Johnny in exchange for silence so that his precious daughter, Kate, doesn't find out.

If Barry Connor and Johnny Connor are first cousins, then their children are second cousins to each other, not third cousins. Michelle and Johnny (for example) would be first cousins once removed (the "removed" refers to a generation).
There are different ways of defining second and third cousins. I just found this out yesterday on my earlier blog post. Confusing, yes!
Well thank you for clarifying *the clan* for us....it was getting confusing with all the extended family members!
Jonny and Barry are first cousins. Barry and Aidan and Kate are first cousins once removed, As are Jonny and Michelle. Michelle, Aidan and Kate are second cousins. It requires a new generation on BOTH sides to change the number designation. If on only one side it makes it "removed".
Barry and Helen seem to have their problems, they fall out quite a lot. Could it be that there is a 'love child' story here that involves Barry as the father? But who is the mother and who is the love child?
Who was the father of Michelles son Ryan? And hy, if Michelle was married to him, did she keep the name Connor?
Isn't Jonny Carla's father?
