The question of course is - why on earth do those pants belong to in Deirdre's house? Let's assume they're not Deirdre's belly-warmers. Tracy wouldn't be seen dead in them, they're certainly not Amy's. This leaves either Peter or Rob - can we really imagine either of those two young bucks wearing something like that? I think not.
Of course, it could be a reminder that Ken is on his way back and Deirdre's giving Ken's pants an airing before he returns. Or maybe they're blankets for Eccles' dog basket.
How odd.

I think it's the camera angle - optical illusion - to make the yard look bigger than it is.
Perhaps they were Blanches and now they're dusters?
Fat Brenda paid a midnight visit and hung them out when no one was about. Cat on the dumpster that scared Gail, no that was Bren tripping over Peter in the ginnel.
That's a mystery alright, can't see any current member of this household wearing large, white briefs.
