Coronation Street actress Barbara Knox, who plays Rita Tanner, has denied drinking and driving.
Ms Knox, 80, who plays Rita Tanner in the ITV soap, was charged after being held at a police station in Knutsford, Cheshire, on 10 March. She had gone there after her daughter, Maxine Ashcroft, 56, was earlier arrested for the same offence.
Ms Knox, who was represented by lawyer Nick Freeman, nicknamed Mr Loophole, will go on trial in July at Macclesfield Magistrates' Court.
Coronation Street said the case was a private and personal matter and it would not be commenting.
Ashcroft, from Lechlade, Gloucestershire, was banned from driving for two years in a hearing at the same court earlier this month.

Does ITV provide a car and driver for its senior cast members? If not, perhaps they should consider it.
They could always take a cab or arranged for someone to pick them up, just like other people do when they decide to have more than a couple of drinks.
How can you plead not guilty when the breathalyser and the blood count says you are over the limit. I hope this woman does not get off and she should have to take another test at 80, a liability.
They may provide a car and driver but that's just transport to and from the studio if they even do that anymore. this was on her own time.
She's presumably been advised by her legal reps to plead not guilty. Could be some technical reason why the prosecution will fail eg the police didn't do something within the prescribed time limits. If it's true what she said at the police station, I'm disappointed by her luvvie manner.
This is the second time recently that I've seen the word "luwie" used. Pardon my Canadian colonialism, but I don't know what that means.
I am also a Canadian but a quick search of the 'net reveals that "luvvie" is a reference to a pop culture prima donna.
A search of the Oxford Dictionary reveals that in British use, "luvvie" is a term that describes an actor who is effusive or affected.
Thanks for that information.
I would have just said that Ms. Knox's alleged behaviour at the police station was pulling the celebrity card.
Thank you for explaining. I too tried looking it up, but I realize I was misreading the type on my computer, thinking the word contained a "w" instead of 2 "v's". How silly of me!
What a great word. It fits some celebrities so perfectly. I hope it doesn't apply to Ms. Knox.
All Corrie actors with tenure are Teflon. The producers will hire lawyers who will get them off no matter what.
