A lot of Coronation Street fans will be upset to read this, I know I was. Katherine Kelly, who playd Becky McDonald, has has ruled out a Coronation Street return for Hayley Cropper's funeral.
Katherine told The Sun's TV Magazine: "Unfortunately there's a really boring logistical problem. There's such a tight window between when Corrie film the episodes and when they broadcast them - and I'm shooting Mr Selfridge from now until November.
"So even though I've always said I'd love to pop back, I don't think that will be a possibility. Isn't that sad? It's a shame, because Becky would definitely have come back."

Surely she could get one day off to visit one episode of Corrie? Lot's of bad Corrie news this week!
Trouble is its not just one day off is it. These scenes take ages to film and she would have to be available for any re-runs they might have to do. Such a shame though, it would have been lovely to see Becky again.
I think she just doesn't want to do it.
The "voice" she uses in her explanation sounds just like her character in Mr. Selfridge. Hmmm...

How about Hayley and Roy visit Becky and Danny in Barbados ~ get the royal treatment all the way and have the most incredible holiday imaginable all courtesy of Becky and Danny. Becky's got to be written in somewhere, that's for sure.
It would be extraordinary though if she did make a brief appearance at the funeral (but how about a surprise one with no spoilers in sight!)... that fantasy funeral story line is of course inclusive of the above holiday still.
Sylvia had Skype set up to chat to Milton. Becky could be seen on-screen and it wouldn't require KK to give up much time. I still don't see that Becky's attendance at the funeral would add much, but a small cameo in one episode of her chatting on-line with Roy and Hayley would be touching.
I love the idea of a 'proper' vacation for roy and hailey. That would be a feel-gooder, and we will be needing a lot of those in the near future by the look of things.
I think the Skype idea would work, especially if the reason Becky couldn't come to visit or for the funeral was that she was too pregnant to fly.
