When did the characters in Coronation Street become so narky and horrible to each other?
Apart from the scenes between Dev and Mary, Monday evening offered up so much bickering and bitching I didn't know what to do with myself.
We had Chesney spitting his dummy at Katy and then at Fiz. Michelle whinging at Ryan. Carla sniping at Leanne. Rob snarling at Peter. Nick having a pop at Peter. Tracy giving everyone evils and Leanne having a go at anyone who came near her.
ENOUGH!
All this angst, negativity and carping is wearing me out Coronation Street. It doesn't need to be so shouty, so rude or so negative. Let's have our favourite characters being a bit nicer to each other for a change. It doesn't have to be boring. Going on some of that lot tonight, if it wasn't for the accents I might as well have been watching ****Enders!

On the one hand, yes, nearly everyone was a bit narky but on the other hand there was no sign of St. Ella!!!
haha yes, every cloud...
No humour or sense of community any more.
Watching old episodes from even the 1990s show that there was still that neighbourly feel in Corrie. People were much more friendly - the arrival of the Battersbys brought an end to that.
You had fewer clashes and that's why those classic arguments are still memorable: Elsie and Ena, Gail and Ivy, Bet and Rita and Bet and Mike.
Bring back the humour! It's wearing me out!!!
Agreed. This was a chore to watch. Zero entertainment.
We were saying exactly the same thing tonight. So much animosity between characters - it's really depressing! Thank goodness for Mary!
Yes this could be a good thing for the character of Mary , move her into a different direction and get her abit more grounded, and away from Norris
I look forward to Mary telling Dev's children about her many travels and teaching them how to cook exotic dishes.
I Haven't watched yet, but I'm a little worried when everybody says 'thank goodness for MARY".... Days are bad on the Street when we turn to Mary for comfort :)
Not only was Mary likeable in this episode, but so were Dev's kids. Improvement all around.
And no Stella. Bonus!
I see my husband has beaten me too it already but yes, I agree, last night was a bit nasty, even Mary is evil and nasty under that fake smile, but hey-ho there was no STELLA. NO STELLA. Klaxon!!
I agree.
Carla, understandably said she is sick of the mess. I think she is speaking for most viewers too.
I'm praying the writers can think of some different storylines.
Yes I think that was a klaxon moment Flaming Nora. Maybe what was missing was Stella smothering all the narkiness in beige?
No Gloria the Bore either or there would have been even more unpleasant comments made. Vilenation Street.
