When Flaming Nora blogged about Michelle Keegan's announcement the other day I can't say I was shocked and stunned. I'm actually surprised she has stayed as long as she has. Tina is a bit of a Marmite character I guess, viewers either love her or loathe her. Michelle Keegan has always given it her all though and I do think she's done a good job. Like Sean, Michelle and Becky, the character of Tina has been a bit over-exposed and the surrogacy storyline has been less than popular in our house.
So the big question is, how will Tina leave Weatherfield? It would seem a certainty that her departure will involve something to do with the current surrogacy story, but will they manage to stretch this out until she leaves next year? I don't know if I can handle this storyline continuing until mid-2014!
We are already seeing signs of Gary Windass falling for Tina, currently carrying his child. We all knew when this started up that it would get messy as the powers that be want to string out as much drama as possible. All I can say is, poor Izzy!
So will Tina get together with Gary? Will Tina end up snatching the baby and fleeing Weatherfield? Will Tina and Tommy get back together again and make a fresh start away from the increasingly tiresome Windass family? Let's just hope Tina's departure doesn't involve a boat and Lake Windermere.
So how do you think Tina will leave Weatherfield's famous cobbled street?

Great post! I wouldn't be surprised if there was a reconciliation with Tommy in the end, and the powers that be send them both off happily into the sunset - probably in a clapped out VW Campervan!
Maybe her mum will be reintroduced? Or maybe Graeme will return and whisk her away somewhere?
Two ways I think this story-line will end:
- The baby somehow turns out to be Tommy's, meaning she was pregnant before the embryo was implanted (don't know how the doctors missed this, though). They leave the street together to start a new life.
- The baby somehow turns out to biologically be Tina's instead of Izzy's (due to a mishap during the implanting procedure), and she and Gary leave the street together to start a new life.
Except there's no hint that Chris Fountain or Mikey North are leaving, so she won't be going anywhere with either of them.
Good point Cobblestone, but until this time last week there was no hint that Michelle Keegan was leaving :-)
I'd like to see her battle some personal demons before leaving.
I would like to see her reject Gary's affections, not fall for them and have to leave town because he won't leave her alone. Probably she may find that seeing the baby being raised by Izzy and Gary is too difficult. She'll have done the right thing, taken Owen's money, and take flight, possibly wiht Tommy.
The loan shark who tormented Tina's father to death, whom she put away behind bars is released from jail. You can guess the rest.
I'm calling it: she dies.
Oh I do hope she doesn't die! I think there's been quite enough death as it is!
They haven't mentioned her mother for years have they Llifon? I can't help but think the old Corrie would have done more with that relationship.
I imagine tptb want to leave the door open for such an award-magnet actor so they won't let Tina die. I think having the baby makes her want one of her own and she and Tommy reconcile. Tommy's character hasn't done much of late so he could be written out when he and Tina leave Weatherfield to, maybe, live with Grandma Doreen.
I agree Graeme. Especially when Joe died. But maybe they'll remember about her and do a story about that. I've never recalled that they had a strained relationship did they? Her only appearance was in 2008 when she disapproved of Tina and David's relationship. I don't recall they had a huge row so maybe that could be explored again.
Sounds the most probable end for Tina. I can't see what Tommy will do if he stays behind once she leaves. He's done very little of late anyway!
I don't think TIna was particularly close to her mother, she was much more of a daddy's girl from memory. i think the surrogacy plot may have been more interesting if Tina's mother had been involved and had a say on what her daughter was doing.
I hope she goes off with the sonographist that did the babies scan. They would make a cute Couple and would leave Gary and Tommy gobsmacked!
Hope she pops the kid, realizes that she doesn't even care anymore if it's Tommy's or not, that she has a dead-end job in a dead-end flat and a dead-end relationship, with no real friends or future and decides she wants to go back to school and make something out of her life.
The baby turns out to be hers and Tommys and they move to Blackpool to be closer to his grandmother.
Maybe dies in child birth?
As sad at it may be I think she will have some sort of argument and get step into the path of a car and die in hospital 2 weeks later
I think the baby will be full term when born so will work out that the baby is tina and tommys not gary and izzys and must of not been picked up on during tests prior to the embrio being implanted
I agree
Step out into a car and die? This isn't Eastenders when Danielle died..
OK two ways of this going-
1) She leaves because she cant stand the thought of watching Jake be brought up (hopefully with Tommy...but no sign of him leaving yet:( )
2) She decides to keep the baby and so leaves to get away from drama (again I hope tommy leaves with her, but...you know)
I love Tina so much, she's my favourite character and I would rather her leave with the baby, I feel sorry for izzy but I couldn't watch jake every week with gary and izzy. I really dislike gary, after everything izzy and him have been through he goes screws it up and kisses Tina. typical.
Tina is running down the street because shes seen her son walk past the rovers and go around the corner she shouts his name again and again when she gets to the corner there is tommy says"wake up wake up " she wakes "god that was a bad nightmare"
about 10pm at night she goes 4 a walk looks outside the windases window a single tear goes down her face " i hope you will always remember me" she see gay walk up 2 him kisses him on the cheeck "i hope you and izzy are good parents" she walks of into the night just holding a leaf
In the magic cab of no return...
