Simon tweeted the above pic of Corrie cast mates eating peanuts. And in the background you can clearly see the new interior set of the Rovers Return with decoration and stained glass partitions. And at the back, you can clearly see actor Tony Hirst, who plays Paul. Does this mean Paul stays with Eileen after all and doesn't leave on the bus as was pictured in the tabloids a few weeks ago?
The Sun piece also mentions "props buyer Pete Eccleston". Is that the same Pete Eccleston who is Antony Cotton's partner?

I don't really like the new look, might be better when on the telly. I think Paul and Julie are going to hook up, she needs a story to give her a break for maternity leave and Brian is leaving, or maybe she won't come back from Egypt?
I saw Tony Hirst (Paul) coming out of the corrie studios a few weeks ago, this was at least two weeks after he had filmed the scenes where he gets on to a train and disappears off to Yorkshire, so clearly he comes back
Yes it is Antony Cotton's partner and relative of Chris Eccleston.
Just because Paul is in the background in that picture doesn't necessarily mean he is coming back, he could have been there on other business and visited the revamped Rovers set when the others were goofing off.
I hope he did leave as I just never did think their relationship worked.
I heard that Paul isn't leaving after all. Maybe Eileen's true colours come through and Paul sees her for what she is..misery personified...and gets together with Julie. That would be a twist..for the better I think.
Why would the new producer say the character of Paul has come to the end of the road and then keep him? He wasnt popular either. Have us hapless viewers gone through this moanfest with sourfacen Eileen for nothing? Frosty is keeping an open mind on this one, he suspects its a red herring.

There's so much happening and they are choosing to make a big deal out a photo that Simon posted of his colleagues and friends in the new Rovers.
Looking at the photo again, Humpty is right, its definitely photoshopped, they are all standing at different angles.
