I'm really getting back into Corrie again, what with Dennis returning, and John Stape's story coming to it's thrilling climax. I'll be really sad to see John leave the street, his storyline has been a really enjoyable (and very unpredictable) ride.
The way last nights episode ending was brilliant, I was expecting to see a scene where John either kills or ties up the Hoyles, but when the scene opened with John stirring a mug of tea in the Stape household, I loved it, I only wish I didn't know what was coming up next.
From the looks of things, the next three weeks of Corrie are a must see, with a week of nightly Corrie episodes, beginning at 9pm on Monday 30th May and carrying on in the same slot for the whole week!

I'm going to miss him, too. I liked John the stumbling teacher from the first. The street is in desperate need of a bit of education. In spite of a preposterous character arc, GH has been an incredible performer who keeps my eyes glued to the screen. Not that logic has much to do with Corrie lately, but I hope they find a logical way to cure him and bring him back. After, of course, Fiz fully regains her sparkle.
I agree, I am so going to miss Grame Hawley,he's been brilliant. I enjoyed last night's also, with Kung Fu Dave, the soundproofed cellar, stairs and so forth. Looking forward to seeing how it ends.
I thought the scenes with John holding Hope yesterday very sweet and touching and wish they could just keep him as a normal bloke.
I think that generally the plot has been enjoyable (even if it has dragged on for slightly too long) and it has added a real element of farce to the soap. I'll be sad to see John go and hope that his exit storyline is entertaining.
I'm torn because on the one hand I'm going to miss John - he's such a likeable bumbling idiot, and Graeme Hawley is brilliant. But on the other hand it is clear that John can't carry on like this, the man is unstable and a danger both to himself and others and justice must be served! His story has run its course and it is time to wrap it up now.
I will be glad to see the back of this storyline tbh. Although about last night, how did John explain himself out of the cellar situation with the Hoyles...I felt like I had missed a scene.
Sad to see him go, one of my fav characters.
Btw, great picture.
Good riddance. They brought in Stape and Fiz totally changed to a blithering idiot who started to panic when she couldn't figure out who ate the last bisquit or what he wanted for his tea.
Come to think of it..most of the characters personalities have changed dramatically in the past couple of years..Hmmmm.
how did John explain himself out of the cellar situation with the Hoyles...I felt like I had missed a scene.
I think you'll find that was a deliberate attempt by the show to create an air of mystery and suspense - we were supposed to spend the last few days wondering what on earth John might have done to the Hoyles, to make us tune in all the more avidly tonight in hopes of finding out!
