It's not often that you get the chance to review a Christmas present on a blog! However, Sean Egan's "50 Years of Coronation Street" has proved to be the ideal read for these cold, dark January nights. It runs the gamut of emotions felt by a selection of actors and crew. The likes of Alan Rothwell (David Barlow), with hindsight, considers that he may have left the programme too early whereas Geoff Hinsliff (Don Brennan) feels that he was possibly in the show longer than he needed to be. Egan makes a play of the numerous inconsistencies in the narrative of Street history and some of the more unconvincing characters. Plus there are comments galore from producers, scriptwriters and storyliners galore.
There's more about the book at http://clinkerstoriddle.blogspot.com/ and Flaming Nora's review of it here.
Have you read Sean Egan's book and, if so, what do think of it?

I have it as well and i really enjoyed it. There are always errors in pretty much any book about Corrie but you can't really hold that against them if it's not a total bollocks. This one is a lot more meaty than the official one
I won it on the Corriepedia site and it's been a good read - it gives details of the controversies of Jennifer Moss, Stephen Hancock and Peter Adamson and then how the different producers give summat different - not to mention Brian Park. Good read for any Corrie fan!
I am reading the book now, and enjoying it, talking about errors, I'm just being picky but there is a cast photo dated 1970 and list the characters/actors, Alice Pickens (played by Doris Hare) is noted as being Annie Walker (Doris Speed) anyone else notice that?
Yeah I did. A bit of an error there :/
What on earth is "Michelle" doing on the front cover with long term icons such as Mike Baldwin, Ken and Hilda??! Outrageous!
