Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor) is expecting a baby, it has been confirmed today.
ITV said: "Kym Marsh and [fiancé] Jamie Lomas are delighted to announce they are expecting a baby together".
This begs the question of how Michelle will be written out of Coronation Street while Kym takes maternity leave. An extended visit to Glasgow, perhaps? Off on tour again? Whisked away by Ciaran for a few months?

I am glad for Kym but Michelle should really be written out now, the character has far outstayed her welcome.
How about she has a drunken one night stand with Norris and is so ashamed she runs away to Mammy Connor in Ireland
or
she and Cieran run off together NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN

maybe ciaran leaves the cooker on with something flammable on it. then he survives the disaster and is so ashamed for all the deaths he's caused he goes away for a break from the street with michelle .>>> member he leaves at the start of the year for BOYZONE then returns later on so it all matches up. they leave together and come back together
As she starts her new role in Underworld, maybe Carla could send her off abroad on a business trip. Alternatively open a branch of Underworld elsewhere.
I wish her all the best and hope she has a healthy baby but would love to see her off the show!

Here is my idea on how she is written out while she takes materinty leave.......
Her and Cirain get together, Cirain dies in the tram crash, leaving her devasted. But later she realises that she is pregnant with his baby! (which will allow the baby bump to be shown) and then she gives birth to the baby. and the baby lives or dies.
- if the baby lives... she goes to visit her mum and dad with the new baby.
- if the baby dies.... she goes back to dublin for family support at this time.
I have to agree that her character and her on screen son's character are very dull indeed. Time for a revamp maybe>

Time for a cleanup. Kym Marsh looks good but she can't act her way out of a paper bag. Alison King looks good AND she can actually act. Let's get rid of the boring characters and bring in some new ones. Please!!
