Well, while it's obviously not the very same belt in this picture, we can clearly see that our Deirdre has always been fond of a belted chain. This picture is taken from a 1970s episode in which the belt featured in a storyline involving little baby Tracy and feckless husband Ray.

1973? Mistake there. It was either 1977 or 1978. Cos Tracy wasn't born until 1977 and Ray left in 1978.

I think that it's the most unflattering thing she owns! Who would put attention to right underneath a "gut" let's say. Oh, Dede.

Good find! i do think she put the belt away for awhile in the 80s and 90s especially when she was a councillor. It was all jackets and skirts and blouses for awhile.
It looks very similar to the one she wears now - except she's added a few more links to it. Haven't we all ;)

"little baby Tracy and feckless husband Ray"? We know Tracy's been a little lax on the morals in recent years but we didn't think she married Ray when she was a baby!
